Emma Radley (Skillman, N.J.) scored her first collegiate goal late in the first half as Babson College defeated visiting Union College, 1-0, in non-conference women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon at Hartwell-Rogers Field.

The Beavers made the most of the only shot on target in the first half by either side thanks to Radley's strike in the 40th minute. She knocked the ball away from a Garnet Chargers' defender and took a return pass from junior
Mack Feeney (North Attleboro, Mass.) before blasting a shot over the head of senior Maya Koster (Farmington, Conn.) from the right corner of the 18-yard box for the only goal of the match.
Babson's marker came less than three minutes after Union's best scoring chances of the match as sophomore Kayla Coviello (Somers, N.Y.) intercepted a pass inside the box following a short goal kick only to see her shot from inside 10 yards drill off the crossbar and out of danger at the 37:04 mark. Maisie Creamer (Boulder, Colo.) pushed away a header by senior Delaney McNinch (Beverly, Mass.) off a cross by classmate Taylor Bovardi (Boxford, Mass.) just past the hour mark.

Callahan Cottone (Medway, Mass.), made the only save of the day for the Green and White. Koster, who was replaced by junior Brooke Rosenshine (Westborough, Mass.) after 45 minutes, made the only stop for the Garnet Chargers in the match.
The Beavers finished with a 13-10 edge in shots and both teams ended with three corner kicks and five fouls apiece.
Babson hits the road for the first time this season on Wednesday when it travels to Brandeis at 4 p.m., while Union meets Middlebury in its home opener on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
