BABSON PARK, Mass.—The 22nd-ranked Babson College women's volleyball team concluded the New England Fall Classic with three-set victories over Union College and William Smith College on Saturday afternoon inside Staake Gymnasium.
The Beavers cruised past the Garnet Chargers 25-20, 25-13, 25-13 in their opening match of the day before defeating the Herons 25-19, 25-20, 25-18 to wrap up a perfect 3-0 weekend in the New England Fall Classic.
Babson 3, Union 0
Senior
Hailey Fouche (Montclair, N.J.) hit .632 and led all players with 13 kills, sophomores
Liberty May (Grapevine, Texas) and
Ailsa Munro (Sylmar, Calif.) both totaled eight kills and senior
Zoe Ackerman (Aurora, Colo.) dished out 43 assists and added five service aces for the Beavers, who hit .472 as a team in the win. Sophomore
Devon Burke (Newtonville, Mass.) chipped in with seven kills and junior
Sabina Frosk (Coppell, Texas) and first-year
Lia Gonzalez (Miami, Fla.) tied for match-high honors with eight digs.
The Green and White jumped out to big leads in all three sets and made just three errors while hitting .536 over the final two games to hand the Garnet Chargers their second loss of the tournament.

Junior
Angelina Holm (Denver, Colo.) led a balanced attack with eight kills and four blocks, Fouche finished with seven kills, five blocks and five digs, and Munro and Gonzalez added five kills apiece for the Beavers. Ackerman recorded 20 assists and a match-high 13 digs, Munro had five blocks and Frosk and Gonzalez each registered 11 digs in the victory.
Emily Fulton had seven kills and 12 digs to lead the Herons, who finished with their lowest hitting percentage (.000) of the season.
Burke had two kills and Ackerman and Holm added one kill apiece as part of a 9-4 run that gave the Green and White a commanding 17-12 lead in the first. William Smith trimmed a four-point deficit to just one late in game two before Babson went on a 6-1 spurt that included back-to-back service aces by Frosk and a kill and a block by May to extend the margin back to 24-18.
The Beavers raced out to a 9-4 lead in the third and once again pulled away late getting a block by Munro and Ackerman, a kill from Fouche and another ace from Frosk to push their advantage to 23-17 on the way to closing out the match.
Babson concludes its four-match homestand on Tuesday when it hosts Wheaton at 7 p.m.
MATCH NOTES
• The Beavers are now 2-3 all-time against Union and 2-0 versus William Smith.
• Ackerman became just the fourth player in program history to surpass 200 career service aces on Saturday.
