Krol, Men's Swimming & Diving Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Recognition

BABSON PARK, Mass.—Rising senior David Krol (Grafton, Wis.) and the Babson College men's swimming & diving team were recognized for their success in the classroom when the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) announced its 2026 Scholar All-America honorees last week.

Krol earned Scholar All-America second-team accolades for the second consecutive season. The Beavers also garnered CSCAA Scholar All-America team recognition presented by Fitter & Faster Swim Camps for the 18th consecutive semester dating back to 2017.

To qualify for first-team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship. Second-team selections, must have also earned a 3.5 GPA or higher and met a "B" time standard for the national championship or qualified for a diving zone qualification meet. For a team to be considered, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.

Krol concluded a terrific season by qualifying for the NCAA Northeast/North Diving Regional for the third year in a row back in February. He recorded his top marks of the season on both the 1-meter (487.40) and 3-meter boards (514.92) at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships on the way to finishing as the runner-up and earning all-league second-team laurels for the second year in a row.

A four-time All-NEWMAC honoree, Krol also posted top-10 finishes in both diving events at regionals for the second consecutive season, placing eighth with a score of 399.00 on the 1-meter board and ninth with a score of 402.30 in the 3-meter competition.

As a team, the Beavers finished the spring semester with a 3.38 grade-point average under fourth-year head coach Eric Thurston. The Green and White was one of 153 Division III men's squads recognized with Scholar All-America honors by the CSCAA for their success in the classroom.

Babson went 8-1 in dual meets and recorded its fourth-highest point total since 2002 on the way to coming in fourth for the third season in a row at the NEWMAC Championships back in February.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
