CLERMONT, Fla.—The Babson College softball team took advantage of 11 walks in the opening game of the day and got four runs batted in from junior
Emily Walsh (Flemington, N.J.) and a complete-game shutout from first-year
Anna Ziccardi (Metuchen, N.J.) to finish off a sweep on Saturday afternoon at Legends Way Park.
The Beavers defeated Colby College, 8-5, to start the day and followed it up with a 9-0 shutout of George Fox University. With the sweep, Babson concludes its trip to The Spring Games with a record of 6-6.

Walsh went 1-for-3 with a double, two walks and three runs scored, senior
Sophia Pak (New Rochelle, N.Y.) had a two-run single and sophomore
Belle DiCampello (Pottstown, Pa.) junior
Devin McCall (Virginia Beach, Va.) both singled and drove in a run in the victory. Fellow junior
Charlotte Raymond (Wrentham, Mass.) also walked four times for the Beavers, who had just four hits but took advantage of 11 bases on balls and four errors.
Senior Emma Burnham (Limington, Maine) singled three times, sophomore Avery Lyman (Berkeley, Calif.) went 2-for-4 with two RBI and junior Ella Wilcox (Windham, Maine) singled twice, drove in a run and scored twice to lead the Mules' 14-hit attack. First-year Lucy Stathis (Wellesley, Mass.) suffered the loss in her collegiate debut after giving up four runs, all of them unearned, over 3.0 innings in the circle.
Lyman's two-out, two-run single gave Colby (3-1) a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first, but Sealy brought home Walsh with an RBI ground out in the bottom of the first, McCall plated Raymond with a single to right in the second and Pak raced home on a another ground out to make it 3-3 later in the inning.
DiCampello gave the Green and White a 4-3 lead with an RBI knock in the third and the Beavers scored four times with the benefit of just one hit in the fourth to break the game open. Sophomore
Maddy DeLong (Cranford, N.J.) brought home junior
Ruby Madia (Princeton Junction, N.J.) with a sacrifice fly to make it 5-4 and Sealey drove in senior
Allie Cubberly (Lagrangeville, N.Y.) with an RBI ground out for a two-run lead.
The frame continued thanks to back-to-back walks and Pak ripped a two-out single to short that brought home two more runs to make it 8-4.
Junior
Lexi Sealey (Pleasant Hill, Calif.) gave up four runs while striking out two over five innings to improve to 2-0 on the year for the Beavers.

Walsh went 2-for-4 with four RBI and a run scored, sophomore
Samantha Skivo (Conshohocken, Pa.) was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored, and DeLong singled, walked and knocked in a pair of runs to lead the offense. Pak also finished with two hits in support of Ziccardi, who spun a three-hit shutout with six strikeouts to improve to 2-1 with the victory.
The Green and White pushed across five runs with two outs in the top of the second to seize command of the game. Cubberly drew a bases-loaded walk for the game's first run, Walsh followed with a two-run single to right and DeLong singled down the right field line one batter later to drive in two more for a 5-0 lead.
Ziccardi, who did not allow a hit over the first three frames, got a strikeout to strand runners at second and third in the fourth and the Beavers put the game away by scoring four more runs in the top of the seventh. Pak scored on an error following Ziccardi's single to center and Skivo followed with an RBI base hit to right to make it 7-0. Walsh delivered the final blow with a two-out, two-run single to center.
Junior Riley Pirkle (Anacortes, Wash.) allowed all nine runs, five of them earned, while striking out five and walking five over 6.2 innings and dropped to 1-4 with the loss.
Babson returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Lewiston, Maine, for a doubleheader against Bates beginning at 2 p.m.
GAME NOTES
• The Beavers are now 2-1 all-time against Colby and Saturday's matchup was the first in program history versus George Fox.
• Raymond's four walks in the win over the Mules are the most by a Babson player since at least 2011, and the team's 11 walks are its most since recording 12 against Wellesley on April 12, 2011.
• The Beavers' four hits are the fewest in a win since they finished with three in a 1-0 triumph over Salve Regina on April 27 of last year.
• DiCampello hit a team-best .371 over 12 games in Florida and finished the trip with at least one hit in the final seven contests.
