Belle DiCampello (Pottstown, Pa.) finished with three hits to help the Babson College softball team earn a split of its two games on Sunday with a 2-1 victory the 13th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on at Hancock Park.
Babson, which is now 2-2 on the year, dropped its opening game of the day to SUNY Geneseo, 8-0 in six innings.

Devin McCall (Virginia Beach, Va.) reached on an error for a 1-0 lead. Topel retired all six batters she faced over the fourth and fifth innings, and Babson doubled its advantage in the last of the fifth as Raymond singled to left to plate first-year

The Warhawks loaded the bases with one out in the top of the sixth and cut their deficit to 2-1 on an RBI single by Auburn Roberson (South Elgin, Ill.), but Topel escaped any further damage thanks to a strikeout and an infield pop up. Senior Bella Eggert (Carol Stream, Ill.) legged out an infield single with one out in the top of the seventh to put the potential tying run on base, but classmate Maggie Ward (Downers Grove, Ill.) lined into a game-ending double play one batter later.
Madi DeBennette (Wadsworth, Ill.) took the loss for Wisconsin-Whitewater (3-3) allowing one unearned run on four hits to go along with three strikeouts in three innings.

Sophia Pak (New Rochelle, N.Y.) singled twice for the Beavers, who were limited to just two baserunners in the loss. Sophomore
Katie Vlacich (Concord, N.H.) shouldered the loss to fall to 0-2 on the year despite striking out three and allowing just one earned run over four innings.
Vlacich retired the first seven batters she faced before her counterpart, Geneseo junior Gabriella Petroski (Lancaster, N.Y.) singled with one out in the third. Sophomore pinch runner Claire Kubiak (Orchard Park, N.Y.) reached third on a pair of wild pitches and scored on an error to make it 1-0 before junior Ray Schumacher (Greece, N.Y.) smacked a two-out double to the gap in right center bringing home two more to put the Knights up 3-0.
Junior Lauren Babich (Glen Cove, N.Y.) produced a two-out single in the bottom of the sixth sparking a five-run rally that ended with senior Brooke Fraas (Lancaster, N.Y.) scoring all the way from first on a single and a throwing error.
Petroski went the distance for Geneseo (1-0), striking out four to earn the shutout.
Babson returns to action on Tuesday when it faces Salem State and Plymouth State beginning at 12:15 p.m. at Legends Way Park.
GAME NOTES
• The Beavers are now 4-3 all-time against Geneseo and 1-1 versus Wisconsin-Whitewater.
• Pak, who saw her 18-game hitting streak end against the Warhawks, has now reached base in 19 straight contests dating back to last year.
• Babson is 20-2 going back to last season when leading after four innings.
• The Green and White is 10-8 since the start of the 2025 campaign in one-run games.
