Women's Basketball Hosts Crosstown Rival Wellesley on Saturday

SERIES HISTORY

•    Babson is 56-15 all-time against Wellesley in a series that dates back to the 1976-77 campaign.
•    The Beavers have won 13 in a row and 26 of the last 28 games between the teams going back to 2008.
•    The Green and White has won six consecutive games against the Blue inside Staake Gymnasium since suffering a 40-36 loss back in December 2013. 
•    Just three of the last 18 contests between the teams have been decided by single digits. 

LAST MEETING
•    Graduate student Emily Flynn finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds, and both junior Samantha Reale and Toni Thompson M'25 added eight points apiece to help Babson defeat the Blue 56-38, on February 5, 2025, in Wellesley, Mass. 
•    Reale led all players with four assists and sophomore Mary Kate Flynn pulled down nine rebounds for the Beavers, who held the hosts to 31.9 percent shooting and led by as many as 18 late in the third quarter. 
•    Stacy Chen scored 10 points and Ava Shane added eight points and five rebounds for the Blue, which made just five second-half field goals. 

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
•    Babson (13-7, 5-1 NEWMAC) extended its winning streak to four by defeating Emerson, 72-60, in Boston on Wednesday night. 
•    Sophomore Julia St. Laurent scored a season-high 16 points, Emily Flynn posted a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds and sophomore Rylie Rosenberg chipped in with 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting as four players finished in double figures for the Beavers, who shot 52.9 percent over the first three quarters and outscored the Lions 46-32 in the paint. 
•    Flynn (15.4 pts, 7.9 reb, 3.6 ast) is the only player in the NEWMAC that ranks among the top seven in scoring, rebounding and assists, Rosenberg (10.4 pts, 3.0 reb, 2.1 ast) is tied for fourth in the league with 40 three-pointers and senior Chloe Perreault (8.1 pts, 6.0 reb) is shooting 50 percent from the field over the last five games. 
•    The Green and White ranks second in conference play in rebounding margin (+8.7) and is third in both scoring offense at 63.3 points per game and scoring defense allowing just 53.2 points. 

SCOUTING THE BLUE
•    Wellesley (9-10, 3-3 NEWMAC) has dropped two of its last three games after suffering a 59-49 loss at MIT on Wednesday night. 
•    Shane recorded 20 points and seven rebounds and Trinity Barrow finished with 13 points, six assists, four rebounds and three steals for the Blue, which shot 48.7 percent over the first three quarters and led 43-40 early in the fourth before going more than five minutes without a field goal. 
•    Shane (16.2 pts, 8.2 reb) has five double-doubles, ranks fourth in the league in scoring and has finished in double figures in 18 straight games, Barrow (13.0 pts, 7.1 reb, 4.3 ast, 3.3 stl) leads the NEWMAC in both assists and steals, and Chen (8.8 pts, 4.7 reb) is first on the team with 35 offensive rebounds. 
•    Wellesley is committing the second fewest turnovers in NEWMAC play (13.0) and is allowing just 56.3 points. 

FLIPPING THE CALENDAR TO FEBRUARY
•    Head coach Kate Barnosky, now in her third season, has guided the Beavers to a 13-4 record in the month of February. 
•    Babson has won 10 consecutive regular season games in February going back to 2024 while holding its opponents below 60 points eight times. 
•    During the 10-game winning streak, the Green and White has won six games by double digits and is 4-0 in contests decided by five points or less.

SENIOR MOMENTS
•    Perreault and fellow senior Allessia Carlo, who have both started all 20 games this winter while playing a key role in the Beavers' hot start in NEWMAC play, will be honored before Saturday's contest. 
•    Perreault, who played in her 100th career game on Wednesday at Emerson, is contributing 10.3 points over the last three games and is shooting 48.6 percent overall and 45 percent from three-point range in conference play.  
•    Carlo, who has already set career highs in both assists (45) and steals (26), scored a season-high 10 points in the win at Emerson and has 10 steals over the last four games. She also leads the team in minutes played (31.6) in league play. 

BEAVER BITES
•    Over the last 10 games, St. Laurent is averaging 10.7 points on 52.4 percent shooting and 4.4 rebounds, and has scored in double figures seven times. She also has at least one steal in six consecutive outings. 
•    Emily Flynn has scored in double figures in each of her last 13 starts has recorded three of her five double-doubles over the last five contests. 
•    Rosenberg has recorded at least one steal in eight straight games and has made at least one three-pointer in nine of the last 10 outings.
•    Mary Kate Flynn is averaging 6.0 rebounds over the last 13 games and has grabbed six or more eight times during this stretch. 

NUMBERS TO KNOW
•    The Beavers are 11-2 on the year when scoring at least 60 points. 
•    Babson is 9-2 on the season when holding its opponents below 40 percent shooting.
•    The Green and White is 10-1 this winter when leading at halftime and 12-0 when it leads entering the fourth quarter. 
•    The Beavers are 8-1 on the year when four or more players score in double figures.
