SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 20 Babson (10-2, 2-1 NEWMAC) bounced back from its first conference loss by defeating Wellesley in four sets (25-14, 23-25, 25-14, 25-17) on Tuesday night.
• Fouche recorded 11 kills and five blocks, sophomore
Devon Burke registered 10 kills, Ackerman handed out 33 assists and Holm led all players with season highs of seven blocks and four service aces for the Beavers, who ended the match with a .287 hitting percentage.
• Fouche ranks third in the conference in kills per set (3.31) and fifth in hitting percentage (.335), Burke is averaging 2.45 kills per set and first-year
Lia Gonzalez is contributing 2.03 kills and 2.47 digs per set.
• Holm (1.91 k/s, 0.97 b/s) ranks fourth in the NEWMAC in blocks and seventh with a .319 hitting percentage, Ackerman (9.92 a/s, 1.82 d/s) ranks eighth in Division III in assists per set and Frosk is averaging a team-high 3.54 digs per set.
SCOUTING THE BEARS
• Coast Guard (9-3, 2-1 NEWMAC) has won eight of its last nine matches after sweeping Clark 25-18, 25-14, 25-13 on Tuesday night.
• Sam Ventimiglia and Corey Lemmer provided 10 kills apiece, Ahokovi and Holly Davis combined for 18 assists and 14 digs, and Courtney Shire led all players with 15 digs for the Bears, who made just five attack errors while recording their highest hitting percentage of the season (.368) against the Cougars.
• Lemmer ranks fifth in the conference in kills per set (3.16) and is hitting .262, Schweitzer (2.77 k/s) owns a .241 hitting percentage and Alaina Corbin (1.81 k/s) has finished with double-digit kills three times this fall.
• Ventimiglia leads the team with 27 total blocks, Ahokovi and Davis are combining to hand out 8.85 assists per set, and Shire ranks second in the league in digs per set (5.00).
BABSON TRENDS
• Fouche has recorded at least seven kills in every match this fall while totaling 10 or more kills in 13 of her last 15 outings going back to November of last year.
• Over the last six matches, Frosk has contributed 11 or more digs five times and is averaging 4.10 digs per set during this stretch.
• Burke has totaled 26 kills and is averaging 2.89 kills per set while hitting .221 in three NEWMAC matches.
• Holm and Ackerman have at least one block in seven consecutive matches, while Fouche and Munro enter Saturday's match riding a streak of six straight contests with a block.
• Gonzalez set a new career high with 12 digs in Saturday's loss to Smith and is averaging 2.88 digs per set over her last five outings, while first-year
Sara Arango had 10 digs in Tuesday's win at Wellesley.
• Ackerman has handed out 30 or more assists in nine of the Beavers' first 12 matches.
BEAVER BITES
• Holm's seven total blocks in Tuesday's victory over Wellesley are the most by a Babson player this season and one shy of her career high of eight set in last year's NEWMAC Tournament final at MIT.
• Fouche, Burke, Holm and Gonzalez have all recorded double-digit kills on at least one occasion this fall.
• The Beavers' 15 service aces in Tuesday's victory were one short of their season high set in a four-set win over UMass Dartmouth on September 18, and four players – Holm (4), Ackerman (3), Arango (3), Gonzalez (3) – finished with at least three aces for the first time in at least a decade.
MOVING UP THE CHARTS
• Ackerman became just the third player in program history to surpass 3,300 career assists in last Saturday's loss to Smith and now also ranks third on Babson's career list with 208 service aces after passing Erica Yuan '04 in the win at Wellesley.
• Fouche ranks 16th with 624 kills and has moved into 19th place on Babson's career list with 767.0 points.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers have recorded a hitting percentage of .200 or better in 14 of their last 15 wins going back to November 4 of last season and are 63-1 overall since 2023 when reaching this mark.
