CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Sophomore
Rylie Roseberg (New Rochelle, N.Y.) knocked down a career-high six three-pointers led four players in double figures with a game-high 18 points as visiting Babson College defeated MIT, 63-48, in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon inside Rockwell Cage.
With the victory, Babson improves to 10-7 overall and 2-1 in conference play. MIT slips to 6-10 overall and 1-2 in the NEWMAC with the loss.

First-year Riley O'Sullivan (Glen Ridge, N.J.) finished with 11 points and seven rebounds, while graduate student Mary Lobon (Valencia, Spain) contributed 10 points, five boards, two blocks and two steals to pace the Engineers.
The opening quarter featured three ties and 10 lead changes before senior
Chloe Perreault (Danbury, Conn.) put the Green and White in front for good 19-16 on the opening possession of the second. Mendoza broke a field goal drought of more than four minutes by both teams with a layup off a steal by Carlo and St. Laurent scored inside on the next possession to extend the margin to 25-20 with 3:12 left in the stanza.

Alyssa Hopps (Quincy, Mass.) beat the first-half buzzer with a putback and
Emily Flynn followed up a triple by Perreault to push the Beavers' cushion to 32-22 just over a minute into the third quarter. MIT cut its deficit to six with under four minutes left in the third and got as close as 44-39 on two free throws by Lobon with 7:41 to go in the fourth before Babson pulled away with a 12-4 run.
Mendoza sandwiched a pair of hoops around a bucket by Hopps to make it 50-40 and Rosenberg followed with back-to-back three-pointers to make it 56-41 with 3:52 remaining. St. Laurent converted a three-point play two possessions later and then knocked down a pair of free throws to give Babson its largest lead of the game at 63-46 with 2:25 left.
The Beavers shot 41.1 from the floor, which includes hitting 8-of-14 shots (57.1 percent) in the fourth quarter, and held a 39-30 edge on the glass. The Engineers shot just 35.3 percent and struggled at the free throw line going 9-of-18.
Both teams return to action on Wednesday at 7 p.m. as Babson hosts WPI while MIT travels to Emerson.
