BABSON PARK, Mass.— Sophomore
Andrew Berardi (Orleans, Mass.) scored three goals to lead a group of five players with multiple goals and 12 players in all scored as No. 20 Babson College powered past the University of Massachusetts Boston, 19-6, in a non-conference men's lacrosse game Tuesday night under the lights at MacDowell Field.
With its second consecutive victory, Babson improves to 8-3 on the year. UMass Boston had its four-game winning streak snapped and is now 8-2 overall.

Camden Matthews (Westford, Mass.) had two goals and an assist, classmate
Sam Sisk (Madison, Conn.) finished with a goal, two assists and three caused turnovers, and graduate student
Justin Greene (Norwell, Mass.), sophomore
Anthony Stillwell (Weston, Mass.), and senior
Emmett Martin (Milton, Mass.) tallied two goals each for the Beavers. Junior
Will Reading (Southlake, Texas) won 15-of-19 face-offs, and Reading and graduate student
Sammy Kalishman (Clarksville, Md.) scooped up five ground balls apiece, while senior
Alex Fascilla (Huntington, N.Y.) made 11 saves on 15 shots in 46 minutes to secure the win in goal.
Senior Timothy Sullivan (Walpole, Mass.) led the Beacons with three goals and first-year Cole Allan (Falmouth, Maine) added a goal and an assist. First-year Jack Baker (Bellingham, Mass.) and junior Jeffrey Russo (Winchester, Mass.) each won four face-offs, junior Holden Kuzniar (Georgetown, Mass.) collected five ground balls, and senior Sean Cullagh (Norfolk, Mass.) caused three turnovers and picked up two GBs. Sophomore James Boldy (Hopedale, Mass.) made 11 saves in goal in the loss.
The Green and White broke a scoreless deadlock at the 7:27 mark of the opening quarter and then got tallies from Stillwell and Greene just 18 seconds apart for a 3-0 lead. Berardi put away a feed from Sisk with 53 seconds to go in the first and Stillwell scored again 91 seconds into the second to make it 5-0.
Sullivan got UMass Boston on the board just under two minutes later, but the Beavers responded with six goals over the final 10:22 of the period to forge an 11-1 advantage at the break. Junior
Bennett Smith (Lake Oswego, Ore.) scored off a pass from grad student
Topher Bower (Chicago, Ill.) to make it 6-1, Martin followed with his first goal of the season at the 6:44 mark and junior
Jackson Simon (Bellevue, Wash.) and Berardi tallied 46 seconds apart as the lead swelled to 9-1 with 3:33 to go before halftime.
Sophomore
Seamus Rooney (Bay Shore, N.Y.) notched his only goal of the night with 2:07 remaining and Martin tallied again 24 seconds later. Reading made it seven consecutive goals when he won the opening face-off and scored to open the third quarter, and the Beavers answered Sullivan's second marker with another three-goal run, which included two by Matthews, to stretch the margin to 15-2 with 5:13 to play in the third.
The Beavers put the game away by outscoring the visitors 4-3 in the fourth quarter, which included the second goal of the year by junior
Luke D'Orsi (Jamestown, R.I.) and the first by senior
Matt Park (Waltham, Mass.).
Babson is back in action on Friday when it travels to Emerson at 7 p.m., while UMass Boston hosts Mass. Maritime on Saturday at 1 p.m.
GAME NOTES
• Babson has won 10 straight and 17 of the last 18 games against UMB and leads the all-time series against the Beacons 18-3, which dates back to 1978.
• The 19 goals are a season high for the Green and White and the most goals since defeating Springfield 19-8 in the NEWMAC championship game last May.
• Babson is 6-1 at MacDowell Field this spring, outscoring its opponent 102-62.
• The Beavers won 20 of the 29 face-offs and are 6-0 this spring when winning at least 50 percent of the face-offs.
