ORANGE, Calif. — The 17th-ranked Babson College women's tennis team had five players earn points in both singles and doubles on the way to sweeping No. 39 Chapman University, 7-0, to start off the spring break trip to California Sunday afternoon at Chapman's Erin J. Anderson Tennis Center.

With the victory, Babson ups its record to 2-0 on the season while Chapman lost its second in a row to fall to 2-3 overall.

Senior Olivia Soffer (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and junior Matia Cristiani (San Salvador, El Salvador) teamed up for a win at No. 1 doubles before registering singles victories in the top two flights for the Beavers. Sophomore Chaniel Soffer (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and first-year Alessandra Cristiani (San Salvador, El Salvador) posted a win at No. 2 doubles before coming out on top in the middle two singles flights for the Green and White. Sophomore Dana Kamal (Cairo, Egypt) and junior Kamila Stasiowska (Burlington, Conn.) won the No. 3 doubles match before first-year Sarai Dorismond (Carlsbad, Calif.) and Stasiowska completed the sweep with victories in the bottom two singles flights.

The Babson tandem of Olivia and Matia had little trouble in putting away a 6-1 decision at No. 1, while Chaniel and Alessandra at No. 2 and Kamal and Stasiowska at No. 3 clinched the doubles sweep with 6-4 triumphs.

Matia cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles and Olivia captured a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1. Alessandra took a 6-3, 6-2 verdict at No. 4 and Dorismond finished off a 6-1, 6-3 score at No. 5.
