BABSON PARK, Mass.—Sophomore Ryan Nagle (Duxbury, Mass.) scored twice in the fourth quarter and senior Matt Wetmore (Virginia Beach, Va.) made seven of his 12 saves in the second half to help visiting Williams College rally for a 9-7 win over No. 17 USILA/No. 13 USA Lacrosse Babson College in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon at MacDowell Field.
Babson, which had its 15-game home winning streak snapped, is now 2-1 on the year. Williams, which was the last team to defeat the Beavers at home back on April 8, 2023, starts the season at 1-0.

Bennett Smith (Lake Oswego, Ore.) tied for game-high honors with three goals, while sophomores

Rowan Mondello (Wakefield, Mass.),
Seamus Rooney (Bay Shore, N.Y.) and
Anthony Stillwell (Weston, Mass.) all scored once for the Beavers. Graduate student
Topher Bower (Chicago, Ill.) dished out two assists, first-year
Trafton Beck (Miami Beach, Fla.) won 7-of-16 face-offs and scooped up a team-high four ground balls, and senior
Brendan Maher (Melrose, Mass.) finished with two ground balls and two caused turnovers. Classmate
Alex Fascilla (Huntington, N.Y.) stopped 11 shots in the loss.
Nagle finished with three goals and junior Ryan Johnson (Somerset, N.J.) added two goals and one assist for three to pace the Ephs. Sophomore Gavin Timoney (Mendham, N.J.) contributed a goal and an assist, senior Eddie Loyd (Monkton, Md.) scooped up three ground balls to go along with a game-high three caused turnovers, and junior Ian Kim (Berwyn, Pa.) won 13-of-20 face-offs while leading all players with five ground balls in the victory.
Smith scored three of Babson's first four goals, including a pair of man-up tallies to build a 4-3 advantage with 6:33 to go in the second quarter. Nagle scored his first goal of the game 53 seconds later to help Williams pull even for the fourth time in the opening half before Chapman gave the Green and White its fifth one-goal lead of the half on his second tally of the year with just 1:42 left before the break.
Mondello notched his first goal of the year just over five minutes into the third to give the Beavers a 6-4 edge, but Wetmore made three key saves over the next six-plus minutes and despite getting outshot 16-5 in the frame the Ephs pulled within one on Johnson's second marker of the day at with 1:59 to play in the quarter. Nagle tied it up at with 12:16 to go in the fourth, sophomore Seamus Regan (Kensington, Md.) gave Williams its first lead off a feed from Johnson at the 6:46 mark and Timoney struck just over a minute later to make it 8-6.
Maher scooped up the ground ball on the ensuing face-off and Stillwell ripped a shot past Wetmore from the right alley to cut Babson's deficit to 8-7 with 4:51 to play. Fascilla made a huge save on Timoney at the 3:55 mark and Babson attempted eight shots over a span of 79 seconds but was unable to pull even. Williams converted a successful clear with 1:34 remaining and senior Matt Johnson (Somerset, N.J.) put the game away with his first goal of the year with 28 seconds to go.
The Beavers, who converted both their extra-man opportunities, finished with a 51-45 edge in shots and were successful on 21-of-22 clearing chances. The Ephs won 13-of-20 face-offs and ended with a 29-21 edge in ground balls.
Babson is back in action on Tuesday when it hosts Nichols at 5 p.m., while Williams travels to Union on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

• In addition to having their 15-game home winning streak snapped, Saturday's loss ended a run of 15 straight wins for the Beavers when leading at halftime.

• Bower extended his points streak to 35 games, while Smith has eight a goal or an assist in nine consecutive outings.
