WELLESLEY, Mass.—Senior
Emily Flynn (Hanover, Mass.) led all players with 13 points and 10 rebounds as visiting Babson College defeated Wellesley College, 56-38, in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's basketball action on Wednesday night inside Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse.
Babson, which has own three of its last four games, improves to 11-9 overall and 3-3 in conference play. Wellesley dropped its fifth consecutive outing to fall to 6-13 overall and 1-5 in the NEWMAC.
Flynn posted her team-leading seventh double-double of the year, sophomore
Samantha Reale (North Attleboro, Mass.) finished with eight points, eight rebounds and four assists, and graduate student
Toni Thompson (Newbury, Park, Calif.) added eight points on 4-of-6 shooting to pace the Beavers. Juniors

Chloe Perreault (Danbury, Conn.) chipped in with six points apiece in the win.
First-year Stacy Chen (Minneapolis, Minn.) scored a team-high 10 points to lead the Blue. Classmate Ava Shane (Plano, Texas) totaled eight points and five rebounds, while sophomore Trinity Barrow (Evans, Ga.) contributed seven points, five boards, three assists and two steals in the loss.

Perreault knocked down consecutive three-pointers and Thompson scored on back-to-back possessions to give the Beavers their largest lead of the half at 34-19 with 1:41 left to go before the break. Wellesley got as close as seven thanks to baskets by Chen and Barrow early in the third before Babson responded with a 14-3 run. Reale started the spurt with four straight points,

The teams combined for just four field goals in the fourth quarter and the Green and White led by as many as 21 on a layup by first-year
Brooke Canty (Dover, Mass.) with less than three minutes to go.
The Beavers shot just 34.8 percent from the floor but turned 22 offensive rebounds into 15 second-chance points and scored 17 points off of 17 Wellesley turnovers. The Blue shot 31.9 percent from the floor and just 2-of-14 (14.3 percent) from three-point range in the loss.
Both teams return to action on Saturday at 1 p.m. as Babson hosts Wheaton, while Wellesley travels to Salve Regina.
