BABSON PARK, Mass.—Senior
Katelyn Mollica (Foxborough, Mass.) scored a career-high 28 points and surpassed 1,000 for her career as Babson College routed visiting Clark University, 85-56, in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon inside Staake Gymnasium.
With its seventh consecutive victory, Babson improves to 16-9 overall and 8-3 in conference play, and will be the second seed in next week's NEWMAC Tournament. Clark, which was eliminated from playoff contention prior to Saturday's contest, ends its year at 11-14 overall and 3-8 in league play.
Mollica finished 11-of-12 from the floor and 6-of-7 from beyond the arc while becoming the 21st player in program history to reach the 1,000-point milestone. Senior
Abby Miller (Millis, Mass.) scored 13 points and handed out five assists, while junior
Chloe Perreault (Danbury, Conn.) added 12 points for the Beavers.

First-year Cyriah Coleman (Los Angeles, Calif.) finished with 15 points to lead the Cougars.
The Green and White seized control of the game from the opening tip by shooting 75 percent (12-of-16) and outscoring the Cougars 32-8 in the first quarter. Mollica went 6-of-6 from the floor and knocked down four triples on the way to scoring 16 points, while Flynn and Miller combined for 14 in the frame.
The Beavers held Clark without a field goal in the second quarter and the trio of Mollica, Miller and Perreault scored 13 points as the lead swelled to 49-12 at the break. Junior
Allessia Carlo (Carmel, N.Y.) drained a three-pointer from the left wing to give Babson its largest lead of the game at 60-21 with 5:14 to go in the third before the visitors answered with a 19-8 run over the final five minutes of the frame.
The Green and White scored on three of its first four possessions of the fourth quarter and got a jumper from Mollica to make it 77-44 at the 6:31 mark, which was followed by a triple by junior
Claire McCarthy (Dorchester, Mass.) that stretched the margin to 80-46 with 5:20 to play.
The Beavers shot 51.6 percent from the floor and matched their season high with 14 three-pointers while finishing with a 37-29 edge on the glass. The Cougars recorded from a 3-of-26 start to shoot 35.8 percent but committed 15 turnovers and were just 14-of-22 at the free throw line.
Babson will host seventh-seeded WPI in a NEWMAC Tournament quarterfinal on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

• The Beavers are now 35-22 all-time against Clark and have won 14 straight games in the series.
• Babson is now 7-0 in the month of February and has held six of its seven opponents below 60 points.
