Timmy Mulvey (Reading, Mass.) led three players in double figures with 14 points as Babson College defeated the visiting Coast Guard Academy, 77-59, in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon inside Staake Gymnasium.
With its third straight win, Babson closes the regular season at 16-9 overall and 10-6 in conference play, and will be the third seed in the upcoming league tournament. Despite the loss, Coast Guard (10-15, 6-10 NEWMAC) earned the conference's sixth and final playoff spot and will return to Babson Park for a quarterfinal on Tuesday night.

Felix Kloman (Ipswich, Mass.) scored 11 points and dished out five assists, while first-year
Ryan Frauenheim (Manasquan, N.J.) contributed 10 points and four assists for the Beavers. Mulvey also handed out four dimes and senior
Nate Amado (Hanson, Mass.) chipped in with eight points, five rebounds, three blocks and two steals.
Senior Declan Rooney (Seattle, Wash.) scored 14 points and first-year Colin Huang (Irvine, Calif.) added 11 points to lead the Bears, who shot just 33.3 percent in the loss.
Neither team by more than four over the first 15 minutes before the Green and White used a jumper by junior
Tyler Lauder (Malvern, Pa.), a layup by Kloman and a three-pointer by Frauenheim to build a 29-21 advantage with 3:52 to go until halftime. Frauenheim canned another triple and the Beavers answered five straight points by Coast Guard with a 6-0 run to take a 38-28 lead into the locker room.
The Bears got as close as five on two free throws by Rooney with 15:55 remaining in the contest before Babson pushed the margin to double digits for good over the next four minutes. Kloman fed Frauenheim for a layup, Mulvey buried a three-pointer from the left wing and junior
Timmy O'Toole (Milton, Mass.) followed with a bucket inside to make it 53-41 with 11:01 to play.
Coast Guard got back within 10 on a layup by sophomore Jordan Frazer (Columbia, S.C.) with 6:26 remaining, but the Beavers responded with a 12-2 run over the next 2:22 to put the game away. Kloman and junior
Jeremiah Paul (Los Angeles, Calif.) connected on back-to-back three-pointers, Kloman followed with another triple and then converted a three-point play thanks to a steal by Frauenheim to make it 70-50 with 4:06 to go.
The Green and White shot 46.2 percent from the floor and got 48 points from its bench in Saturday's victory. The Beavers also blocked eight shots and held Coast Guard to just 5-of-20 shooting (25 percent) from three-point range.
The teams will meet again inside Staake Gymnasium on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
