No. 3 Field Hockey Visit U. of New England for Final Non-Conference Game on Tuesday

SERIES HISTORY
• The Beavers are 11-0 against the Nor'easters in the all-time series that dates back to 2012.
• Seven of the 11 contests have been decided by two goals or less, including four overtime affairs.
• Babson has won all six games between the two sides in Biddeford, the first three between 2012 and 2016 in overtime.

LAST MEETING
• Andrea Marguerite '24 M'25 scored a pair of goals and Ellie Powers '25 scored her first goal of the season on a penalty stroke as No. 7 Babson defeated UNE, 5-1, on October 29, 2024 at MacDowell Field.
Berit Sharrow '25 and senior Caroline DiGiovanni also scored for the Beavers and senior Alex Michelotti picked up an assist. Bayla Furmanek '25 and senior Josie Ashton each made one save in goal in the win.
• Senior Makena Valentine potted a fourth-quarter goal for the Nor'easters with an assist from classmate Shelly Tremblay. Dawn DeWeese-Moss '25 made seven goalie saves and senior Micaela Jacobs recorded a defensive save in the setback.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 3 Babson (16-1, 8-0 NEWMAC) extended its winning streak to a dozen on Saturday with a 4-0 conference victory over Salve Regina at MacDowell Field.
• Senior Caroline DiGiovanni and junior Helen DiGiovanni scored goals in the first five minutes of the game, and senior Laney Reed and junior Grace Mullaney also scored for the Beavers. First-year Madison Tibbals made three saves to record her sixth shutout, sparking a Babson defense that kept the NEWMAC's highest scoring team off the scoresheet.
• DiGiovanni (17-0-34) shares the NEWMAC lead in goals and ranks second in points while sophomore Penny Baroni (10-5-25) is in the top 10 in the conference in goals, assists and points. DiGiovanni also leads the conference with six game-winning goals. Michelotti (3-4-10) has an assist in her last two games and ranked third on the team in scoring. Junior Ashley Braren (4-1-9) and Reed (4-0-8) are tied for third on the team in goals, and junior Grace Mullaney (2-5-9) shares the team lead in assists.
• Tibbals (0.88 GAA, .791 sv. pct, 53 saves) has started 16 straight games between the pipes and leads the league in goals against average, is tied for the lead in shutouts (6), and ranks fourth in save percentage.

SCOUTING THE NOR'EASTERS
• UNE (11-7, 5-2 CNE) wraps up its regular season against Babson after recording a 6-0 victory over Hartford in its Conference of New England finale on Saturday in Biddeford.
• Junior Kate Kelso notched three goals and Jacobs tacked on a pair of scores in the victory. Valentine added a goal and Tremblay and first-year Ava Wolverton collected assists as the Nor'Easters outshot the visitors 32-0.
• The Seahawks have a balanced offensive attack as Valentine (9-6-24) leads the team in scoring, Kelso is second on the squad in goals and points, and Tremblay (5-7-17) is the team leader in assists. Jacobs (6-0-12) is also a strong threat on offense for the Nor'Easters.
• UNE has split duties between the pipes with sophomore Greta Jennison (2.38 GAA, .662 sv. pct, 47 saves) has started 10 games and senior Savanna Harvey (2.18 GAA, .640 sv. pct, 32 saves) has gotten the starting nod in eight games.

BABSON VS. THE CNE
• Tuesday's match-up is the third Babson game this season vs. teams from the CNE.
• The Beavers defeated Endicott 4-3 in the season opener on August 29 and edged Roger Williams, 2-1 in overtime, on October 1.
• Babson has won 13 consecutive games against the CNE dating back to a 3-1 loss to Endicott in the season opener on August 30, 2019.

TIMELESS SUCCESS
• The Green and White have won their last 64 games in the month of October since 2018; the last loss in the 10th month was a 2-1 setback at Montclair State on October 28, 2017.
• The Beavers are 50-3 in weekday games over the past five seasons.
• Babson is 41-1 in night games going back to October 3, 2018.

CLIMBING THE CHARTS
Caroline DiGiovanni has joined both the 50-goal and 100-point clubs for the Beavers in the past week.
• The senior standout has scored in four straight games to move into a tie with Jessica Palandino '10 for seventh on the Babson career goals list (51), and into 10th place on the career points list (107).

HISTORICAL SUCCESS
• The Babson seniors have achieved remarkable success since 2022, registering an overall record of 76-11 (.874).
• This year's team has surpassed the seniors of 2019, who went 72-17 (.809) in their four years, and are approaching the program standard set by last year's seniors of 81-12 (.871).

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• Babson is 7-0 this season in games decided by one goal and have won 26 of 33 games over the past five years in games determined by a single goal.
• The Green and White have won their last 79 games over the past five years when leading at halftime.
• Since the start of the 2021 season, Babson is 87-2 when holding the opponent to no more than one goal. The only losses were 1-0 in overtime at No. 8 Williams in 2024 and 1-0 to No. 4 Johns Hopkins in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals in 2022.
