BABSON PARK, Mass.— Coming off its first New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championship since 2018, Babson College head baseball coach
Matt Noone officially announced his program's 2025 schedule on Tuesday.
The Beavers, who hosted an NCAA Tournament Regional last spring and advanced to the tournament for the first time since appearing in the Division III College World Series in 2019, have a 39-game slate on tap for 2025, including 16 NEWMAC games and 10 contests against teams that played in last year's NCAA Tournament.
The Green and White will open the season in Lexington, Kentucky with games against Hope on February 28 and NCAA Tournament teams Baldwin Wallace on March 1 and host Transylvania on March 2. After returning to New England to face Salem State in a doubleheader on March 8, the Beavers will head to Auburndale, Florida for the RussMatt Invitational, which will feature seven games from March 14-20.
Babson's trip to Florida will include three games against 2024 NCAA Tournament teams – Coe on March 15, Rowan on March 16 and Scranton on March 18. The week will also include matchups against Milwaukee School of Engineering on March 14, Rhodes on March 15, Rutgers-Camden on March 19, and Amherst on March 20 to wrap up the week.
The Green and White will begin NEWMAC play in the home opener against MIT on March 25 at Govoni Field, leading into a pair of non-conference games vs. Suffolk at home on March 26 and at Roger Williams on March 27. The month of March winds up with a NEWMAC twin bill at Emerson on March 29 and a non-conference encounter at NCAA Tournament participant UMass Dartmouth on March 31.
The month of April opens with a conference tilt at MIT on April 1 and a non-conference clash against Trinity on April 2 at Govoni Field. The Beavers visit Clark for a NEWMAC doubleheader on April 5 befofe returning home to take on Suffolk on April 9 and Southern Maine on April 10 as part of a five-game homestand, which includes a pair against NCAA Tournament team Salve Regina in a conference doubleheader on April 12 and a non-conference contest against Lasell on April 15. A busy week includes non-conference matchups at Tufts on April 16, a rematch against UMass Dartmouth on April 17, and a home NEWMAC twin bill vs. WPI on April 19.
The final two weeks of the regular season begin with a visit to perennial NEWMAC powerhouse Wheaton on April 22, a strong regional test against UMass Boston at Govoni Field on April 23 and a road trip to NCAA Tournament team Johnson & Wales on April 24. The Beavers host Coast Guard for two on April 26 at Govoni Field and Wheaton on April 29 before travelling to Springfield for the final two regular season games on May 3.
The six-team NEWMAC Tournament will get underway with the semifinals on May 7-9 and the finals on May 10-11. The NEWMAC champion receives an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
