NEW HAVEN, Conn.— Sophomore Robert Barrasso (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) tied the game with 39 seconds left in regulation and classmate Zeth Kindrachuk (Calgary, Alb.) scored the game-winner 2:01 into overtime as Albertus Magnus College defeated Babson College, 5-4, in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's ice hockey action on Saturday afternoon at the Ralph Walker Skating Rink.
Albertus completed the weekend sweep with its fifth straight victory, upping its record to 9-5-1 overall and 6-3-1 in the NEHC while Babson, which entered the weekend on a five-game winning streak, slipped to 9-7-1 overall and 7-5-0 in league play.

Kindrachuk finished with two goals and two assists for the Falcons, and senior Tim Manning (Concord, Ohio) was good for a goal and an assist in the win. Barrasso and first-year Maksim Tsegelnik (Moscow, Russia) scored once each, sophomore Charles Lavoie (Chicoutimi, Que.) added an assist, and first-year Chace Hale (Pittsburgh, Pa.) made 23 saves to earn the victory in goal.
The Beavers jumped out in front with a pair of goals in the first three minutes of the game. Kramer opened the scoring just 96 seconds after the opening face-off; Woudenberg fired a shot from inside the blue line that Hale stopped but the puck was loose in the crease and Kramer knocked it in for his fourth of the season.
Just 84 seconds later, after some tenacious Babson defense that prevented Albertus from clearing its own zone, Kennedy sent a pass from behind the net to Schmitt in front. Hale stopped Schmitt's first attempt, but Schmitt slid the rebound past the goalie for his first goal of the season at the 3-minute mark and a 2-0 Beaver lead.
Albertus got one of the goals back before the end of the period. Manning sent a pass from behind the net to Kindrachuk at the right faceoff dot, and he ripped a shot over Mueller's shoulder into the top right corner to slice the deficit in half heading into the second period.
Babson regained the two-goal lead just 1:31 into the middle frame when George made a pass from the right corner to Murphy in front, and Murphy hit a one-timer past Hale inside the left post.
The Falcons rallied to tie the game with a pair of goals in a six-minute span midway through the period. Manning got loose in the zone and received a pass from Lavoie in the right corner before beating Mueller glove side at 7:13, and Tsegelnik made a nifty move on the Babson defense to go in alone and flip a shot past Mueller from the left side to deadlock the score at 3-3 at 13:08.
The Beavers pulled ahead again early into the third period on a shorthanded goal. Sibold found Kennedy in front with a pass from the left boards, and Kennedy lifted a shot over a fallen Hale at 3:56. The Green and White maintained the one-goal lead until the final minute, when Albertus was skating 6-on-5 with an empty net behind them. A Babson clear attempt bounced off the glass right to Barrasso, who spun and shot from the right faceoff dot and beat Mueller inside the right post with just 39 seconds left in regulation.
The hosts completed the weekend sweep two minutes into overtime when Kindrachuk took a shot from the right circle; Mueller made a shoulder save but couldn't control the rebound and Kindrachuk buried the game-winner with a backhander.
The hosts finished with a 33-27 advantage in shots on goal. Babson finished 1-for-4 on the power play and added a shorthanded goal while killing all three Albertus attempts with the man-advantage.
Both teams return to action with NEHC games on Friday as Babson travel to Elmira and Albertus travels to Salve Regina.
