Katelyn Mollica (Foxborough, Mass.) tied for game-high honors with 21 points and sophomore
Samantha Reale (North Attleboro, Mass.) made the go-ahead free throws with 1:19 remaining to lift Babson College to a 67-65 win over visiting Springfield College on Wednesday night inside Staake Gymnasium.
Babson, which has won four of its last six games, improves to 8-6 overall. Springfield has dropped its last three contests to slip to 8-6 on the year.
Mollica tied her career high with six three-pointers and added three assists and two steals, while Reale finished with 16 points, seven rebounds and a career-high four blocks to lead the Beavers. Senior
Emily Flynn (Hanover, Mass.) posted her fifth double-double of the year with 15 points and a game-high 11 boards, and junior
Chloe Perreault (Danbury, Conn.) chipped in with nine points and nine rebounds.
Senior Angie Czeremcha (West Springfield, Mass.) recorded 21 points, eight rebounds and four assists to pace the Pride. Sophomore Natalie Lucas (Madison, Conn.) contributed 13 points and classmate Kassidy Carrano (West Haven, Conn.) scored nine points to go along with two steals.
Down five just over four minutes into the contest, the Green and White went on a 17-2 run that started with four consecutive three-pointers and a combined 13 points from Perreault and Mollica to build its largest lead of the game at 22-12 late in the opening period. Springfield responded with a 16-6 spurt to tie the game at 28-all on a layup by Junior Amanda Leary (Westbury, N.Y.) with 2:38 remaining in the second quarter before the Beavers responded with back-to-back triples by Mollica and Flynn and a late hoop by Reale to regain a 36-32 advantage at the half.
Babson started the third with an 8-2 burst that included points from four different players and stretched the margin to 47-40 on a three-ball by Mollica with 5:33 left in the quarter. Czeremcha followed a triple by Madison Lopez () with seven straight points to pull the Pride within one in the closing seconds of the frame and another three-pointer by Lopez and a driving layup by Carrie Hess () put Springfield in front 57-56 with 7:45 to go in the fourth.
Czeremcha made it 59-56 two possessions later, but Flynn answered with a three-pointer and Mollica knocked down a long jumper to put the Green and White back in front 61-59 with 5:39 to play. Czeremcha tied the game after almost three minutes without a bucket and Carrano answered two free throws by Perreault with a jumper to tie the game at 63 with 1:34 to go.
Reale knocked down the go-ahead free throws on the ensuing possession and Springfield missed a pair of potential go-ahead three pointers before Flynn sealed the win by going 2-of-2 at the charity stripe with 12.1 seconds remaining.
The Beavers shot 36.8 percent from the floor but made 10 three-pointers and outscored the Pride 15-5 at the free throw line in addition to finishing with a 43-31 edge on the glass. Springfield shot 42.2 percent for the game and outscored the Green and White 34-18 in the paint.
Both teams open NEWMAC play on Saturday as Babson hosts Emerson at 1 p.m., while the Pride take on MIT at 3:30 p.m.

• The Beavers are 36-16 all-time against Springfield and have won 13 of the last 18 games between the teams.
