Katie Guden (Belmont, Mass.) and senior
Camille Marsh (Englewood, Colo.) added a pair of goals each as No. 5 Babson College rolled past Clark University, 9-0, in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) field hockey opener for both teams Saturday afternoon at the Granger Athletic Complex.
The Beavers captured their 60th consecutive NEWMAC regular season victory dating back to 2015, improving to 5-2 overall and 1-0 in the conference this season. Clark dropped its second game in the past 24 hours to fall to 4-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

Sophie Croci (Columbus, Ohio) and junior
Caroline DiGiovanni (Harwich, Mass.) chipped in with a goal and an assist each and senior
Jessica Evans (Southbury, Conn.) rounded out the list of goal scorers. Senior

Ashley Braren (Westwood, Mass.) and
Helen DiGiovanni (Harwich, Mass.) collected assists in the win and senior
Bayla Furmanek (State College, Pa.) needed to make just one save to earn her fourth shutout of the season.
Three Clark goaltenders combined to make 10 saves for the hosts, including junior Loren Root (Sherborn, Mass.), who made seven stops in 30 minutes between the pipes.
The Beavers needed just 69 seconds to get on the scoreboard when Marguerite scored off a pass from
Ellie Powers.
Caroline DiGiovanni set up Evans for her second of the season as the Green and White led 2-0 after one frame.
Babson put the game away with a three-goal second quarter, including two scores from Guden and one from
Caroline DiGiovanni. Marguerite assists on the past two of the stanza as the Beavers took a comfortable 5-0 lead into the break.
Marsh got on the board with her first goal of the season last in the third quarter, set up by Croci, and the Beavers put in three more in the final frame in a span of four minutes to finish off the Cougars, one each by Croci, Marsh and Marguerite.
The Green and White will be back in action on Tuesday with a visit to No. 7 Tufts at 6 p.m. Clark is also on the road on Tuesday at Keene State at 6:30 p.m.
GAME NOTES
• The Beavers have a 23-15-2 advantage over the Cougars in the all-time series that dates back to 1985, including wins in the last 20 matchups going back to 2004.
• Saturday's outcome is the fourth time in the last calendar year that Babson has won by a 9-0 score, following regular season victories over Wheaton last September and Mount Holyoke last October and a conference tournament triumph over Springfield in November.
• Babson has captured 32 straight contests against NEWMAC opponents, including the conference tournament, since the start of the 2021 campaign.
• Marguerite's six points in the game matches her career-best performance when she scored three goals in a 5-2 win over Endicott on October 25, 2022.
