SCOUTING THE BEARS
• Coast Guard (20-8, 9-2 NEWMAC) has won four straight and eight of its last nine outings after outslugging Nichols, 21-12, on Wednesday.
• Nathan Stafford went 3-for-6 with a three-run homer and six runs batted in, Kael Godshalk was 3-for-4 with a double, a homer and six RBI, and John Carroll finished 3-for-5 with a double and three runs scored for the Bears, who took the lead with a seven-run fifth inning.
• Stafford is batting a league-best .474 with 14 doubles, five homers, 42 RBI and 30 runs scored, Richard Barkley is hitting .313 with nine doubles, 10 home runs, 37 RBI and 28 runs scored, and Wyatt Duthu boasts a .441 on-base percentage to go along with a .312 average, four doubles, four dingers, 26 RBI and 40 runs scored.
• Vito Giordano is 2-1 with a 2.79 ERA and 42 strikeouts in 38.2 innings pitched, Milbert (5-0, 3.70 ERA) had a 0.99 WHIP and 49 strikeouts against just six walks in 41.1 innings pitched, and Ryan Karman is 3-0 with four saves, a 0.71 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 25.1 innings of relief.
WHAT'S AT STAKE
• Entering the penultimate weekend of conference play, the top four teams are separated by just two games in the loss column.
• Salve Regina (10-2) holds a half-game lead over second-place Coast Guard (9-2), while Babson enters Saturday's twin bill a game in back of the Bears.
• Wheaton (9-4) is percentage points behind the Beavers in fourth, while WPI (6-5) is currently fifth.
• The top six teams qualify for the NEWMAC Tournament, which begins with a pair of play-in games on Wednesday, May 8.

• After batting .538 (7-for-13) with a double, two RBI, four stolen bases and three walks in four starts, senior
Jack Julian was selected as the NEWMAC Player of the Week on Monday.
• He singled twice and reached base three times in last Tuesday's 5-4 win over Emerson, was 1-for-3 with two runs scored in a 10-7 victory over Tufts and went 4-for-4 with a double, two RBI, two stolen bases and three runs scored in game two of Sunday's twin bill versus WPI.
WE'RE GOING STREAKING
• Savage is riding an 11-game hitting streak and has produced six doubles and nine RBI during this stretch.

John Nowak has reached base safely in each of his 18 starts this spring and boasts a .481 on-base percentage, while junior
Justin Guest has gotten on in 15 straight games to raise his OBP to .446.
• Kiely, who has multiple hits in three of his last four starts, has driven in at least one run in four consecutive outings and has reached base safely in 13 straight contests.
BEAVER BITES
• Santos recorded his team-leading 12th multi-hit game of the year on Tuesday versus Wheaton his 20 stolen bases are just five away from the single-season program record.
• Tanner leads the Beavers in both runs batted in (31) and multi-RBI games (10). He also is third on the team with 10 multi-hit outings.
• The Green and White has nine players with at least 14 RBI and seven players with at least 20 runs scored through its first 29 games.
• Babson's pitching staff ranks 41st in Division III in hits allowed per nine innings (8.56) and has given up seven hits or fewer in five of the last seven games.
