BABSON PARK, Mass.— Junior
Kathryn Blake (Medfield, Mass.) scored three goals and finished with career highs of five assists and eight points to lead Babson College to a 20-3 victory over Smith College in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's lacrosse match-up Saturday afternoon at rainy MacDowell Field.
With the victory, Babson posted its third straight win to move to 4-1 on the season and 2-0 in conference play. Smith dropped its second in a row and fell to 4-5 overall and 1-1 in the NEWMAC.

Lyndsey Newsome (Woodbine, Md.) chipped in with two CTs and three GBs.
Junior Sadie Tschider (Piedmont, Calif.) scored twice for the visitors, senior Gia Arancio (Smithtown, N.Y.) contributed a goal and an assist and classmate Jennie Arancio (Smithtown, N.Y.) collected three draw controls, two ground balls and a pair of assists. Sophomore Caroline Sanders (Orange County, Calif.) grabbed four draw controls, senior Bella DeAngelo (Portsmouth, R.I.) had two caused turnovers and two ground balls, and sophomore Shannon Houtenville (East Windsor, N.J.) had a solid game in goal for Smith, finishing with 11 saves.
After Tschider opened the scoring for the Pioneers, the Beavers rattled off six unanswered goals to finish the first quarter with a 6-1 lead. Blake scored twice in the rally, Evans had a woman-up goal, and Ives, Downer and Darveau each found the back of the net once. The Beavers kept the momentum going in the second frame with six more unanswered goals, including back-to-back strikes by Downer. Darveau, Downer and Connolly capitalized with goals on woman-up situations, and Evans and Ives also scored in the rally. Tschider tallied a goal for Smith in the final minute to stop the streak as Babson took a 12-2 lead into the intermission.
It was more of the same in the second half as Babson scored all four goals in the third quarter. Blake fired in the first goal after the break and set up Evans and Darveau for the next two, and Evans scored again to put the Beavers ahead 16-2 after three quarters. Junior

Cameron Rabenold (Cincinnati, Ohio) all scored their first goals of the season for Babson in the final frame, Darveau added one more, and Gia Arancio rounded out the scoring for Smith in the final minute.
The Green and White dominated the stats sheet with a 40-5 advantage in shots and 15-9 on draw controls. Babson was good on 18-of-19 clears while holding Smith to 11-of-19.
Babson is right back in action on Sunday, hosting No. 13 Trinity in non-conference action at 2 p.m. at MacDowell Field. Smith will take on Springfield in a NEWMAC affair on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
