NEW LONDON, Conn.—Junior 
Camilla Silk (Medfield, Mass.) led all players with 15 points and fifth-seeded Babson College outscored fourth-seeded Coast Guard 24-8 in the fourth quarter to earn a 65-49 win in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament quarterfinal on Wednesday night inside Roland Hall. 
Babson, which has won eight of its last 10 games, improves to 14-12 overall and advances to the NEWMAC semifinals for the 15th consecutive tournament. Coast Guard sees its season come to a close at 19-7.
Silk was 6-of-10- shooting and grabbed a team-high nine boards, while senior 
Kelly Walsh (Goffstown, N.H.) scored 12 points to lead the Beavers. Junior 
Emily Flynn (Hanover, Mass.) chipped in with 10 points off the bench in the win. 
Senior Kira Wood (Seattle, Wash.) and junior Kelly Hagerty (Emerald Isle, N.C.) both scored 12 points, while sophomore Dorothy Stotts (Edina, Minn.) contributed 11 points to pace the Bears. Hagerty also led all players with 10 rebounds in the loss. 
Trailing by four with under three minutes to play in the third quarter, the Green and White outscored Coast Guard 22-5 over the next 10 minutes to grab control of the game. Flynn tied it late in the third and banked in a three-pointer to give the Beavers a 45-41 edge just over 90 seconds into the fourth. Walsh and junior 
Katelyn Mollica (Foxborough, Mass.) converted back-to-back layups to push the lead to eight and senior 
Rachel McMenemy (Northborough, Mass.) followed up a bucket by Silk with two free throws to stretch the advantage to 53-44 with 5:04 to go in the contest. 
Walsh hit a baseline floater at the 3:37 mark and then fed Silk for a hoop in the paint as the Babson lead swelled to 57-44 with 2:29 remaining. 
Down nine after Coast Guard opened the game by making six of its first eight shots, Babosn got nine consecutive stops and used a 13-0 run to take its first lead of the game. Walsh beat the first quarter buzzer with a layup, first-year 
Samantha Reale (North Attleboro, Mass.) knocked down two free throws and followed a three-pointer by Flynn by converting two straight steals to give the Beavers a 20-16 advantage at the 5:08 mark of the second period. 
Stotts scored five straight points to put the Bears back in front with 2:05 to go until halftime before a layup and two free throws by Silk tied the game at 26 going to the locker room. Babson used a three-point play by Silk and a layup from Reale to go up 33-30 nearly four minutes into the third before Coast Guard went back in front with a 7-0 run.
The Beavers shot 40.7 percent from the field, outscored the Bears 32-18 in the paint and turned 21 turnovers by the hosts into 19 points. Coast Guard went 3-of-17 from the floor (17.7 percent) in the decisive fourth quarter and shot 38.5 percent for the game.
Babson will travel to top-seeded Springfield for a NEWMAC Tournament semifinal on Friday at 7 p.m. 
GAME NOTES
•    The Beavers are now 40-10 all-time against Coast Guard and won 11 straight games in the series going back to 2015.
•    Babson has won eight consecutive NEWMAC quarterfinals and is 24-5 all-time in the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament. 
•    The Green and White is now 12-2 on the year when holding its opponents below 60 points. 
•    The Beavers are now 9-0 this season and have won 16 straight games going back to February of last year when scoring at least 65 points.
