No. 7 Field Hockey to Host the University of New England on Tuesday at MacDowell Field

SERIES HISTORY
• The Beavers are 10-0 against the Nor'easters in the all-time series that dates back to 2012.
• Seven of the 10 contests have been decided by two goals or less, including four overtime affairs.
• Babson has outscored UNE 12-2 in the four games at MacDowell Field, although the last two have been one-goal victories.

LAST MEETING
Jackie Hill M'24 scored three goals for her first career hat trick and the stingy defense didn't concede a shot on goal as No. 2 Babson shut out UNE, 5-0, on October 24, 2023, in Biddeford, Maine.
Meara Hanyon '23 M'24 and senior Camille Marsh also scored for the Beavers. Senior Jessica Evans collected a pair of assists and Sinead Walsh M'24 and junior Laney Reed added one assist each.
• Senior Dawn DeWeese-Moss turned in a strong performance in the Nor'easters' goal, finishing with 14 saves.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 7 Babson (14-3, 8-0 NEWMAC) extended its winning streak to nine games with a big 2-1 conference victory at No. 15 MIT on Saturday afternoon in Cambridge.
• First-year Penny Baroni and graduate student Katie Guden scored first-half goals in the victory. Senior goalie Bayla Furmanek made three saves in goal for the Beavers, all three coming in the final two minutes of the game, including one on a penalty stroke with 42 seconds remaining to secure the victory.
• Junior Caroline DiGiovanni (12-4-28) has achieved career highs in all three offensive categories, while Evans (10-1-21) reached double digits in goals for the first time in her career. Guden (9-3-21) has at least one point in seven of her last nine outings, graduate student Andrea Marguerite (6-4-16) has eight points in her last seven games, and Marsh (5-3-13) has eight points in her last eight contests for the Beavers, who have outscored their opponents 64-12.
• Furmanek (0.70 GAA, 40 saves) leads the league in shutouts (9) and ranks seventh in Division III in goals against average.

SCOUTING THE NOR'EASTERS
• UNE (7-10, 1-3 UNE) has dropped three of its last four games, including a 3-0 conference setback at Roger Williams on Saturday in Bristol, R.I.
• DeWeese-Moss registered seven saves in the loss. The Nor'easters managed just three shots on goal in the contest, one each by senior Lily Clough, junior Shelly Tremblay, and first-year Laney LeBlanc.
• LeBlanc (6-2-14) had a hat trick in a win at Nichols earlier this month and junior Makena Valentine (4-3-11) and senior Madi Robito (4-2-1) have four goals each. Clough (2-5-9) and Tremblay (1-5-7) share the team lead in assists for the Nor'easters, who have been outscored 39-28 this season.
• DeWeese-Moss (2.27 GAA, 101 svs.) has played every minute between the pipes for UNE and has posted three shutouts. Junior Micaela Jacobs has racked up 12 defensive saves for the Nor'easters, which ranks third in Division III.

GOAL ORIENTED
• The Beavers are averaging 3.8 goals per game, which ranks 15th in Division III.
• The Green and White feature a balanced offense, with seven players scoring at least five goals and 14 players with at least one goal.

ON THE DEFENSE
• Babson has conceded just 12 goals in 17 games and ranks fifth in Division III in team goals against average and eighth in shutouts per game.
• The Beaver back line, led by Sharrow, fellow senior Ellie Powers, graduate student Brooklyn Lamb, and junior Sanne van der Goes, has allowed no more than three shots on goal in 11 of 17 games this season, including seven of the last 10 outings.

GOALS DENIED
• Furmanek has allowed just four goals during Babson's nine-game winning streak.
• The senior goaltender recorded her 55th career victory on Tuesday, which is tops among active Division III netminders and ranks second among active goalies in all NCAA Divisions.
• With 64 consecutive starts, Furmanek (55-9) has tied the program record for career victories set by her predecessor, Cassidy Riley '22, who was 55-11 from 2018-21.

BEAVER BITES
• Evans ranks 13th in program history with 34 goals, tied for 15th with 22 assists, and needs 10 points to become the 13th player in program history to record 100 career points.
• Babson is 6-1 at home this season, 20-1 at MacDowell Field since the beginning of last season and 43-5 at home over the past four seasons.
• Since 2018, the Beavers are 54-0 in the month of October, including 25-0 at home, 28-0 on the road and 1-0 at a neutral site.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers are 35-2 since the start of last year and 70-2 over the past four seasons when scoring the first goal of the game.
• The Green and White have won its last 65 games over the past four campaigns when leading at halftime.
• Babson is 99-3 since 2018 when holding the opponents to fewer than two goals.

• The Beavers wrap up the regular season at home on Saturday, hosting Mount Holyoke in a NEWMAC affair at 12 p.m. at MacDowell Field.
