Women’s Soccer Hosts WPI for NEWMAC Encounter on Wednesday Afternoon

SERIES HISTORY
• Babson has a 16-11-5 record against WPI in the all-time series dating back to 1995.
• The Beavers have captured three one-goal games in a row over the past two seasons after going 0-3-3 in the previous six encounters from 2017-2021.
• The Green and White are 2-0-1 in the last three home games against WPI and 6-1-1 at Hartwell-Rogers Field since 2011.

LAST MEETING 
• Morgan Krauss '23 M'24 scored the go-ahead goal in the 84th minute and second-seeded Babson went on to a 3-2 victory over seventh-seeded WPI on October 31, 2023, in a NEWMAC tournament quarterfinal at Hartwell-Rogers Field.
• Natalie Knauff '24 tallied a goal and an assist for the Beavers, senior Jordyn Ferrantino notched one goal and Cassie Lawson '24 registered an assist in the victory. Senior Nora Ryan made five saves to record the win in goal.
• Sophomore Maeve Steckley and senior Mia Gilmore scored for the Engineers and senior Madisyn Bagby finished with an assist. Graduate student Lili Hellerman made seven saves in goal in the setback.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (2-3-3, 0-0-2 NEWMAC) is unbeaten in its last five games and has posted three consecutive draws, culminating with last Friday's scoreless deadlock at Coast Guard in New London, Conn.
• Ryan made three saves between the pipes in the tie for the Beavers, who outshot the Bears 17-9. First-year Josie Lee and senior Elisa Diletizia led the Beavers with four shot attempts each.
• Lee (2-1-5) has scored two of the Beavers' six goals this season, and Ferrantino (1-1-), Diletizia, senior Laura Lukowicz and sophomore Janiya Ocampo have one goal each.
• Ryan (1.50 GAA, 36 saves) has started all eight games in goal and has recorded three shutouts. She is fifth in the NEWMAC in goals against average and save percentage (.805) and second in clean sheets.

SCOUTING THE ENGINEERS
• WPI (4-2-3, 1-0-1 NEWMAC) is also unbeaten in its last five games, including back-to-back road draws at UMass Boston (1-1) last Wednesday and Salve Regina (0-0) on Saturday.
• Hellerman made two saves to post the clean sheet against Salve Regina as the Engineers outshot the Seahawks 18-9. She also collected five saves in the draw vs. UMass Boston.
• Steckley (3-1-7) and senior Olivia Toolin (3-1-7) share the team scoring lead and first-year Abigail Johnson (3-0-6) shares the goal scoring lead. Bagby (1-2-4) is also an offensive threat and sophomore Delaney Mohl has the team lead with three assists.
• Hellerman (1.33 GAA, .780 sv pct), who has started all nine games this season and all but two games since the start of last season, is tied for third in the NEWMAC with a pair of shutouts.

NEWMAC HISTORY
• Going back to last October, Babson is unbeaten in its last seven NEWMAC regular season games (4-0-3).
• Babson is 22-5-8 in its last 35 games against NEWMAC foes dating back to 2021, including the post-season.
• The Beavers are 56-4-4 when scoring at least two goals in NEWMAC games dating back to Sept. 18, 2012.

BEAVER BITES
• The last four Babson wins and nine of the last 10 victories dating back to last season have been one-goal verdicts.
• Three of Ryan's four career shutouts have come this season.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Green and White is 10-2-4 since last year and 31-3-4 dating back to 2021 when scoring the opening goal of the match. 
• The Beavers are 10-0-3 since the start of last season and 26-1-3 going back to 2021 when leading at the half.
