Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

Rosado Posts First Career Shutout as Men's Ice Hockey Blanks NEC, 4-0

HENNIKER, N.H.— First-year goalie Mason Rosado (Weddington, N.C.) made 23 saves for his first career shutout and sophomore Brendan Kennedy (Georgetown, Ontario) had a goal and an assist as Babson College blanked New England College, 4-0, in New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) men's hockey action Friday evening inside Lee Clement Arena.

With the win, Babson posted its second straight victory to improve to 8-5-2 overall and 6-1-1 in the NEHC while NEC dropped its seventh game in a row to dip to 2-12-1 overall and 0-7-1 in league play.

Sophomores Cam Joslin (Cohasset, Mass.) and Ian Driscoll (Middleton, Mass.) and junior Wyatt George (Mount Lebanon, Pa.) also scored for the Beavers, while senior Colby Bailey (Southborough, Mass.), junior Brendan Murphy (Arlington, Mass.), sophomores Charlie Andriole (Branford, Conn.), Nolan Woudenberg (Collegeville, Pa.) and Ryan Murphy (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.), and first-year Jimmy Fallon (Milton, Mass.) collected one assist apiece in the win.

Sophomore Danny Miscavish (Macomb, Mich.) made 23 saves and kept the Pilgrims in the game until the Beavers scored three times in the final 5:17 to secure the victory.

The Green and White scored the only goal of the first frame when Joslin buried a rebound off a shot from the point by Bailey with 3:23 left in the period, with Fallon also picking up an assist on the goal. The Beavers had a power play opportunity in both the first and second periods but could not convert, settling for the one-goal lead after killing off three Pilgrim power play attempts.

Babson finally earned some breathing room with its second goal at 14:43 of the third period as Kennedy skated the puck across the blue line in transition, cut to the middle and fired a wrist shot from the high slot that deflected off Driscoll past Miscavish glove side. Brendan Murphy assisted on the play to record his first career point.

Kennedy added an empty netter with 1:12 remaining, firing the puck all the way from the left face-off circle in his own end to extend the lead to 3-0. George rounded out the scoring in the final minute, snapping a wrist shot from the right circle that beat Miscavish just inside the right post at 19:19.

Babson finished with a 29-23 advantage in shots on goal while NEC had a 33-27 margin in face-off wins.

Both teams will play NEHC games again on Saturday at 4 p.m. as Babson visits No. 11 Norwich and NEC hosts Southern Maine.
