NEW YORK—Senior
Erin Gray (Oakland, Calif.) recorded a career-high 13 kills to help Babson College sweep Amherst College, 25-23, 25-22, 25-18, in non-conference volleyball action on Friday night inside the John A. Paulson Center on the campus of NYU.
With the win, Babson improves to 3-0 while Amherst drops to 1-1 on the season.

Lulu McShane (Glencoe, Ill.) finished with 10 kills and classmate
Caroline Applewhite (Boca Raton, Fla.) dished out 17 assists for the Beavers. Sophomore
Roz Cabuena (Kailua, Hawaii) led all players with 17 digs and five service aces, first-year
Zoe Ackerman (Aurora, Colo.) contributed 12 assists, eight digs and three aces and sophomore
Lilly Steiner (Hingham, Mass.) chipped in with a match-high four blocks in the win.
Junior Kinsey Cronin (Medford, Minn.) hit .500 and put away eight kills, while senior Carly Cooper (Nashville, Tenn.) finished with 10 assists and seven digs to lead the Mammoths.
The Green and White led by as many as nine in the opening set before Gray's heroics helped erase a late 21-20 deficit. She combined with first-year
Nora Whitehurst (Decatur, Ga.) on a block to put the Beavers back in front 22-21 and followed with three late kills to secure a two-point victory.
Leading 15-13 in the second set, Babson took advantage of three straight errors by Amherst and three consecutive aces by junior
Tatum Stelter (Glendale, Ariz.) to build a commanding 22-13 advantage. The Mammoths fought off four straight set points following a kill by Gray to get as close as 24-22 before McShane closed out the frame with a kill from Applewhite.
Game three featured eight ties and four lead changes before the Green and White used an 8-0 run that included a pair of kills by first-year
Allison Molendyk (Danville, Calif.) and three aces by Cabuena to forge a 17-10 edge. The Beavers hit .400 in the set and never let Amherst get closer than five down the stretch.
Babson is back in action on Saturday as it faces 11th-ranked NYU at 10 a.m. and Stockton at 3 p.m.
