PLYMOUTH, N.H.—Junior Connor Tait (Boyds, Md.) scored 17 seconds into overtime to lift No. 8 Plymouth State University to a 6-5 win over visiting Babson College in non-conference men's ice hockey action on Saturday night inside Hanaway Rink.
Babson, which has played two straight overtime games, falls to 0-3-1 on the year, while Plymouth State improves to 3-0 on the year.

Sam Sibold (South Hero, Vt.) and
Mike Stevens (Massapequa, N.Y.) each had a goal for the Beavers. Fellow sophomore
Brendan Kennedy (Georgetown, Ontario) finished with two assists, while first-years
CJ Beals (Chelmsford, Mass.) and
Jimmy Fallon (Milton, Mass.) both added a helper for their first collegiate points in the loss. Sophomore
Nate Mueller (Rogers, Minn.) also made 17 saves in his second start of the year.
Sophomore Will Redick (Collingwood, Ontario) finished with a goal and three assists, while Tait, first-year Will Pray (Wheaton, Ill.) and junior Brady Morrison (Chilliwack, British Columbia) all contributed a goal and an assist for the Panthers, who got 32 saves from senior Kalle Anderson (Taby, Sweden) in the victory.
Fallon forced a turnover and Schmitt gave the Green and White a 1-0 lead just 4:06 into the contest with a wrist shot from the left circle. The Beavers doubled their advantage just over seven minutes later when Murphy redirected sophomore
Nolan Dion's (Marshfield, Mass.) shot from the point on the power play for his team-leading third goal of the season.
Plymouth State got on the board with 1:44 to go in the opening period on Cameron Patton's power play goal and pulled even at 2-2 when first-year Patrick O'Connell (West Chester, Pa.) jammed home a rebound 7:44 into the second. Babson wasted little time regaining the lead though as Kennedy gained the zone and dropped the puck back for Bailey, who beat Anderson over his left shoulder for a 3-2 edge at the 9:08 mark.
Sibold gave the visitors there second two-goal lead of the night at 13:44 of the second period when he powered through the left circle and threw a puck on net that found its way through Anderson for his first tally of the year. The Panthers responded though, scoring three times over the first 14:25 of the third period to take their first lead.
Redick stuffed home a cross-ice pass from Pray on the power play just 39 seconds into the stanza and Pray tied it when he beat Mueller from the slot at the 9:39 mark. The hosts took a 5-4 lead on Morrison's wrister from the top of the left circle off a face-off with 5:35 to go in regulation before Stevens scored off his own rebound at the left post just over two minutes later to send the game to overtime.
The extra session lasted just 17 seconds as Redick forced a turnover in the neutral zone to set up Tait's game winner.
The Beavers outshot the Panthers 37-23 and went 1-for-2 on the power play.
Babson returns to action on Friday when it hosts Elmira at 7 p.m., while Plymouth State visits Anna Maria on Tuesday at 5:50 p.m.
GAME NOTES
• The Beavers are now 6-2-1 all-time against Plymouth State and Saturday's loss snapped a five-game winning streak in the series.
• Saturday's result marks just the second time in 72 games going back to 2018 that Babson has lost when leading after two periods.
• The Green and White is 4-4-5 in overtime games going back to the start of the 2021-22 campaign.
