SPRINGFIELD, Mass.—Senior
Cassie Lawson (Davie, Fla.) scored the equalizer in the 82nd minute to help visiting Babson College finish in a 1-1 draw with Springfield College in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's soccer action on Wednesday night at Brock-Affleck Field.
Babson, which is second in the latest NCAA Region II rankings, extends its unbeaten streak to four matches and is now 9-5-3 overall and 7-1-2 in conference play. Springfield ran its unbeaten streak to three games and is now 8-4-4 overall and 6-2-2 in the NEWMAC.

Natalie Knauf (Point Pleasant, N.J.) recorded an assist and junior goalkeeper
Nora Ryan (Abington, Mass.) made seven saves for the Beavers.
Sophomore Kayla McGrath (North Adams, Mass.) had a goal and junior goalkeeper Taryn Ryan (Holyoke, Mass.) stopped four shots for the Pride.
Springfield took the lead just 77 seconds into the match as McGrath gathered a throw in just outside the box on the right wing before blasting a shot past Ryan and under the crossbar from 20 yards for her team-leading eighth goal of the season. Babson junior
Jordyn Ferrantino (Millis, Mass.) had her header sail just wide of the left poss off a cross by Lawson in the 19th minute and sophomore
Meredith Greeley (Ottawa Hills, Ohio) narrowly missed junior
Elisa Diletizia's (Canton, Mass.) cross from the right wing in the 43rd minute.
The Pride avoided disaster in the 56th minute when Ryan was able to making a diving stop after a clearance by one of her defenders deflected off Beavers' senior
Olivia Maltbie (Niskayuna, N.Y.) in front of goal. Ferrantino narrowly missed tying the game minutes later when her shot from the left corner of the box drifted just over the crossbar.
Ryan was well-positioned to catch Springfield senior Gabby Scott's (Sea Cliff, N.Y.) header in the 78th minute and leveled the match just over three minutes later. Following a throw in along the left sideline, Knauf lifted a service into the box and Lawson was able to flick a header that bounced past Ryan and inside the far post for her third goal of the year.
The Beavers and Pride each finished the night with 17 shots and five corner kicks.
Both sides conclude the regular season on Saturday at 1 p.m. as Babson hosts Clark, while Springfield travels to Smith.
GAME NOTES
• The Beavers are now 7-19-6 all-time against Springfield, which includes a 2-1-4 mark over their last six road matches in the series.
• Babson is unbeaten in nine straight conference road matches (7-0-2) going back to last season.
• The Green and White is 7-0-2 this fall when conceding one goal or fewer.
