Caroline DiGiovanni (Harwich, Mass.) scored two goals each as No. 2 Babson College extended its winning streak to nine games with a 5-0 victory over Wellesley College Tuesday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) field hockey action at Butler Stadium.
With the victory, the Beavers moved to 15-1 overall and 7-0 in conference play while the Blue dropped their fifth game in a row and fell to 7-8 overall and 3-4 in the NEWMAC.

Senior goalie Kyra Deehr-Lewis (Newtown, Pa.) had a strong performance at the other end of the field and finished with 14 saves.
The Beavers scored one goal in each of the first three quarters before putting the game away with a pair in the final frame. DiGiovanni opened the scoring the scoring in the fifth minute off a penalty corner when she redirected a shot in front past the goalie for her first of the game. Walsh doubled the Beaver lead in the 20th minute when she collected her own rebound, dribbled around a defender and scored on a hard shot from the right side.
McGrath extended the margin to 3-0 early in the third quarter on another penalty corner after receiving a feed from Hanyon. The Beavers pulled away in the fourth quarter on yet another penalty corner as DiGiovanni deflected a shot by McGrath over the goalie's pads. McGrath rounded out the scoring on a penalty corner, firing a shot from the right side off a defender's stick near the left post.
Babson finished with a 30-4 margin in total shots, and took 12 of the game's 13 penalty corners.
Both teams return to action on Saturday at 12 p.m. as Babson hosts NEWMAC co-leader No. 22 MIT and Wellesley visits Clark.

• Babson is 20-28-1 all-time against Wellesley in a series that dates back to 1984.
• The Beavers have won eight straight against the Blue, including seven of the eight by at least three goals.
• McGrath totals (2g, 1a) move her up to eighth place on Babson's career scoring list with 117 points (45g, 27a), passing Colleen Kelly '11, who had 36 goals and 42 assists for 114 points from 2007-11.
• The Green and White extended its NEWMAC regular season winning streak to 57 games dating back to 2015.
