SERIES HISTORY
• Babson and Smith will meet for the 38th time on Wednesday evening in a series that dates back to 1987. The Beavers are 24-13 all-time against the Pioneers and have won 19 straight games in the series since 2001.
• During its 19-game winning streak the Green and White have outscored Smith by an average of more than 12 goals per game.

LAST MEETING
Georgia Salvatore '21 finished with career highs of six goals, four assists and 10 points to help visiting Babson cruise past Smith, 19-5, on April 6, 2019 in Northampton.
Valerie Quinlan '21G tallied three goals, one assist and six draw controls, while Lexi Lenaghan '19, Juliana McGuire '21 and Coco Creedon all scored twice for the Beavers. Caroline Benson contributed a goal and two assists, and both Salvatore and Mairead Williams '19 picked up three ground balls in the win. Cricket Fligor '21 made all five of her stops in the first half.
• Maddie Ryan '20 scored three times and Emily Biggs'19 finished with a goal and an assist to go along with five draw controls, three ground balls and three caused turnovers for the Pioneers. Senior Alyssa Schams made 14 of her 18 saves in the first half of the loss.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (11-5, 7-1 NEWMAC) brings a six-game winning streak into Wednesday's contest, including a 13-10 victory over Coast Guard last Saturday in New London, Conn.
• Five players scored two goals each and Babson used a key six-goal surge in the second half to propel the Beavers to a 13-10 victory over Coast Guard. Junior Erin Jayne was the top scorer for Babson with two goals and two assists, while classmate Claudia Dodge filled up the stat sheet with two goals and one assist along with game-highs of seven ground balls and four caused turnovers.
• First-year Amelia Novitch also tallied two goals and one assist and junior Anna Katherine Sypniewski and sophomore Genevieve Bushey scored two goals apiece in the win. First-year goalie Kathleen Murphy made six saves in the Babson goal.
• Jayne (42-27-69) leads the NEWMAC in points and is third in both goals and assists, while Dodge (32-15-47) is fourth in the conference in ground balls (45), fifth in caused turnovers (28) and ranks in the top 10 in assists and points. Senior Courtney Kaskey (17-3-20) is eighth in the NEWMAC in goals and Connolly is second in draw controls (90). Murphy (9.90 GAA, .403 sv. pct.) is third in the league in goals against average.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
• Smith (8-8, 4-4 NEWMAC) is coming off back-to-back NEWMAC victories over Clark (16-15) last Wednesday and Emerson (13-10) on Saturday.
• First-year Sadie Tschider and junior Reese Gittelman each tallied three goals in the win over Emerson with Tschider adding three assists. The Pioneers had eight different goal scorers with junior Stella Alphas finding the back of the net twice and grabbing five draw controls to become Smith's single-season record holder in draw controls with 106.
• Sophomore Tatum Galuski also collected five draw controls, classmate Paige Hume caused three turnovers and Alphas and sophomore Jennie Arancio picked up three ground ball apiece.
• Tschider (31-20-51) is fifth in the NEWMAC in points and sixth in assists, while Arancio (40-7-47) is tied for fourth in goals and Alphas leads the conference in draw controls. Senior Alyssa Schams (12.89 GAA, .430 sv. pct.) has started 13 of the team's 16 games.

A LOOK AT THE NEWMAC STANDINGS
• Heading into Wednesday's final games of the regular season, Babson (7-1), Springfield (7-1) and MIT (7-1) are deadlocked for first place in the NEWMAC standings. All three teams have posted 1-1 records against the other two and have clinched playoff berths.
• While Babson is hosting Smith, Springfield is traveling to Coast Guard (6-2) and MIT is playing Wellesley (2-6) at home. Coast Guard has also clinched a playoff berth, and Wheaton (4-4) and Smith (4-4) have the advantage over Emerson (3-5) for the final two playoff spots.

NEWMAC WEEKLY HONOR
• Dodge earned the NEWMAC Defensive Athlete of the Week award on Monday afternoon, the third time this season she has received the honor.
• The junior midfielder had a tremendous all-around week recording 10 ground balls, seven draw controls and five caused turnovers.

BEAVER STREAKS
• Jayne has recorded at least one point in all 26 of her games dating back to the start of her career in February of 2020.
• Jayne and Dodge have scored at least one goal in 11 straight games this spring, while Novitch and Kaskey have each scored at least once in nine in a row.

THE BEAVERS AT HOME
• Babson brings a 5-3 home record into Wednesday's game, with all three losses coming to nationally-ranked teams (Middlebury, Ithaca, and Wesleyan). Those three teams are ranked 1st, 10th and 11th in this week's national poll.
• The Beavers have won their last three conference home games by a combined score of 61-7.

NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Green and White are 48-6 in games against the NEWMAC going back to 2016, going 23-3 at home and 25-3 on the road.
• Babson has won 23 in a row, including eight this year, when holding the opponent to 10 goals or fewer, and are 33-1 since the start of 2018.
• The Beavers have won their last 35 games when leading at halftime, including 10 this year, and are 38-1 when ahead at the break dating back to 2018.

UP NEXT
• The Beavers will be defending their 2021 NEWMAC championship when the conference tournament starts on Saturday with quarterfinal games (the top two seeds receive byes). Babson has won three of the last four NEWMAC titles (2017, 2018, 2021).
