• Georgia Salvatore '21 finished with five goals and three assists for a season-high eight points to help Babson defeat Coast Guard, 14-6, in a NEWMAC Tournament semifinal on April 24, 2021, in New London, Conn.
• Junior Claudia Dodge scored four times and sophomore Kayleigh Hacker contributed three ground balls and three caused turnovers for the Beavers, who built a 7-2 halftime lead.
• Addy Bass scored three times and Haley McCue registered a goal and an assist to lead the Bears, who got 11 saves from Mary Budri.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (10-5, 6-1 NEWMAC) has won five consecutive games and is coming off a 20-3 rout of Emerson on Wednesday night.
• Junior Anna Katherine Sypniewski scored a season-high seven goals, senior Courtney Kaskey tallied four times and junior Erin Jayne contributed two goals and three assists for the Beavers, who led 11-0 less than three minutes into the second quarter.
• Jayne (40-25-65) leads the conference in points and is tied for second in goals, while Dodge (30-14-44) has scored a league-high 14 free-position goals and leads the team with 38 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers.
• Kaskey (36-8-44) has produced four straight multi-goal games, first-year Clare Connolly ranks third in the NEWMAC with 78 draw controls and classmate Kathleen Murphy ranks third in the conference with a 9.90 goals against average to go along with a .405 save percentage in 15 starts.
SCOUTING THE BEARS
• Coast Guard (10-4, 6-1 NEWMAC) has won nine of its last 10 games and is coming off a 17-6 victory over Mount Holyoke on Wednesday.
• Katherine Pittman and Gianna Cascio both scored three times and the trio of Laine Webber, Caitlyn Coates and Katharine Rott all chipped in with two goals apiece for the Bears, who set a new program record for regular season conference wins.
• Pittman (31-13-44) has produced five straight multi-goal games, Coates (24-11-35) has scored in four consecutive outings and Cascio (24-7-31) leads the team with 31 caused turnovers.
• Brenda Anderson (14-16-30) is first on the squad with 32 ground balls, Kira Howard has collected 67 draws and Devon McCue ranks second in the NEWMAC in goals against average (9.08) and fifth in save percentage (.443) in 14 starts.
CROWDED AT THE TOP
• The Beavers and Bears are two of four teams tied atop the NEWMAC standings at 6-1 along with Springfield and MIT.
• The top two seeds earn a bye to the semifinals, while the third and fourth seeds will host quarterfinal games on Saturday, April 30.
STREAKING INTO THE WEEKEND
• Jayne, who has a point in each of her 25 career games, and Dodge have a goal in 10 straight outings, while Kaskey and first-year Amelia Novitch have both produced at least one goal in eight straight contests.
• The Beavers have scored 20 goals in each of their last three games for the first time in program history and have put 18 in four consecutive outings.
