SERIES HISTORY
• Saturday's game will be the first career meeting between Babson and Vassar.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• Babson (1-0) is coming off a 13-10 victory over Skidmore in its season opener last Sunday in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
• Juniors Erin Jayne and Courtney Kaskey combined for seven goals and three assists in the victory. Jayne finished with four goals and two assists and Kaskey tallied three goals, one assist and a team-high three draw controls.
• Junior Claudia Dodge, sophomore Genevieve Bushey, and first-year Solana Fahey all notched one goal and one assist, and sophomore Nicole Darveau and first-years Amelia Novitch and Kathryn Blake scored once each.
• Bushey also picked up five ground balls and senior Brooke Leveillee picked up four, and Dodge recorded a team-high two caused turnovers. First-year goalie Kathleen Murphy made six saves in goal to record the win in her collegiate debut.
SCOUTING THE BREWERS
• Vassar (1-1) is looking for its second straight victory after a dramatic 10-9 triumph over Coast Guard in its home opener on Friday evening in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
• Senior Ashley Roberts fired in the game winning goal on a pass from junior Annie Uyeki with 1:47 remaining in the game to cap a rally from being down 8-5 late in the third quarter.
• Uyeki finished with a team-high five points on three goals and two assists while junior Maddy Kretten added three goals and one assist. The Brewers also got one goal apiece from juniors Trina Chou and Kateri Sanseviro, sophomore Yael Gelman and Roberts.
• Sanseviro picked up a team-high three ground balls and Kretten (5) and Chou (4) combined for nine draw controls.
• Senior goalie Jackie Molloy made nine saves in the first half while sophomore Lauren Johns recorded four saves in the last 30 minutes.
BEAVER BITES
• With its win over Skidmore, Babson is 6-1 in season openers going back to 2016.
• Eight different players recorded at least one point in the victory.
• Kaskey and first-year Michaela Downer shared team-high honors with three draw controls each, and first-year Clare Connolly recorded a pair.
• The Beavers caused 11 Thoroughbred turnovers, the most in a game since causing 18 in a win over Plymouth State back on February 29, 2020.
A PEAK BACK
• Babson finished with a 4-2 record in a covid-abbreviated season in 2021, and defeated Springfield 22-4 in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championship game.
• The Beavers made their eighth appearance in the NCAA Tournament, dropping a second round game to No. 14 College of New Jersey, 21-9.
• The Green and White also made recent NCAA Tournament appearances in 2017 and 2018.
PICKED TO WIN
• Babson picked up six of a possible 10 first-place votes and finished atop the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) preseason coaches' poll earlier this month.
• The Beavers have gone 32-3 in the regular season against league foes since 2016 while winning three NEWMAC Tournament championships (2016, 2017, 2021).
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers have won their last 24 games when scoring 14 or more goals, a streak that extends back to April 14, 2018.
• The Beavers have allowed 10 goals or fewer in each of their last nine victories going back to 2019.
