FORT MYERS, Fla.—Senior Eric Jaun (Loveland, Ohio) and junior Sean Harrington (Walpole, Mass.) drove in five runs apiece as Babson College pounded out 18 hits and took advantage of a school-record 18 walks on the way to defeating Edgewood College, 23-7, in non-conference baseball action on Monday afternoon at the Lee County Player Developmental Complex.

Babson, which has won five consecutive games, improves to 6-2 on the year, while Edgewood slips to 1-4 overall.

Harrington hit the first grand slam of his career, senior Connor Gill (Sterling, Mass.) went 4-for-6 with a double and four RBI, and classmate Nicholas Browne (Mount Laurel, N.J.) homered and drove in three runs as part of a two-hit day for the Beavers. First-year Thomas Lapham (Charlestown, Mass.) had three hits and scored four runs, while juniors Jake Oliger (Newtown, Conn.) and Matthew Valente (Wyckoff, N.J.) both contributed two RBI in the rout.

Sophomore Jordy Allard (Hartford, Vt.) improved to 2-0 after giving up one run on six hits while striking out four in six innings for Babson.

First-year Kyle Semrad (Racine, Wis.) drove in three runs, classmate Joseph Kalafut (Columbus, Wis.) went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, and senior Bryan Sternig (Grafton, Wis.) went 2-for-4 and scored three times for the Eagles. Kalafut gave up eight runs on four hits and four walks while recording just one out in his first start of the year to fall to 0-1 with the loss.

The Green and White recorded only four hits in the bottom of the first but sent 13 men to the plate and got two-run singles from Jaun and Browne along with a two-run double from Gill to build an 8-1 advantage. Harrington drilled a grand slam as part of a five-run third and Browne led off the fourth with a solo shot to key another five-run rally that extended the margin to 18-1.

Babson scored three more runs in the sixth, including bases loaded walks by both junior Alex DiMartino (Mahwah, N.J.) and sophomore Tyler Bell (Abington, Mass.). Jaun drove in sophomore Peter Feinman (Virginia Beach, Va.) and Lapham with the final two runs of the game with an opposite field single with two outs in the eighth.

GAME NOTES
• The Beavers are now 1-1 all-time against Edgwood. The only other meeting between the programs came in 2005.
• Prior to Monday's 18 walks, Babson's previous high in a single game had been 13 on two occasions.
• All 16 players that had a plate appearance in Monday's win reached base safely at least once.
