THE SERIES
Babson and Coast Guard will meet for the 80th and 81st time in a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. The Beavers are 57-22 all-time in a series that dates back to 1978 and have swept the regular season series against the Bears in each of the last two seasons.
LAST MEETING
Junior Michael Genaro tossed 8.1 no-hit innings and Jack Halpin '17 and sophomore Sean Harrington both drove in a pair of runs as the Beavers defeated Coast Guard, 8-0, on April 5, 2017, in Babson Park. Genaro retired the first 15 batters he faced and came within two outs of a no-hitter before senior Alex Murdoch legged out an infield single for the Bears only hit.
LAST COAST GUARD WIN
Kyle Jackson drove in two runs and Colton Cannon tossed a complete-game as fifth-seeded Coast Guard downed the fourth-seeded Beavers, 6-1, in a NEWMAC Tournament quarterfinal on April 24, 2015, in Babson Park. Rob Caggiano '15 went 2-for-3 for the Beavers, who scored their lone run on Owen Shea's '17 single in the bottom of the second inning.
SCOUTING THE BEARS
Coast Guard (6-6, 0-3 NEWMAC) has dropped five of its last six games after suffering an 11-4 loss to Castleton on Friday. Junior Will Stephens had three hits and classmate Jeremy Lhotka doubled and drove in a run for the Bears, who issued 10 walks to the Spartans on the day. Junior Luke Thompson is batting .478 with one double and 10 runs scored, Lhotka is hitting .348 with four doubles, a homer and eight runs batted in, and sophomore Jon Pressley also checks in at .349 with three extra-base hits and a team-high 11 RBI. First-year Lukas Caskey has two saves in three relief appearances, while sophomore Brett Sullivan is 2-1 with a 3.00 ERA in three starts.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
Babson (10-7, 1-2 NEWMAC) has won three straight after defeating Johnson & Wales, 10-6, on Friday. Senior Mark Webber and juniors Nicholas Browne and Brian McHale all had three hits and Harrington drove in three runs for the Beavers, who got the go-ahead single from junior Edward Lehr in the sixth. McHale is batting .385 with nine extra-base hits and 11 runs batted in, senior David Lennon is hitting .378 with two doubles and five RBI, and Harrington has eight extra-base hits and 11 RBI to go along with a .525 on-base percentage. Sophomore Michael Nocchi has a 0.84 ERA in 10.2 innings, while junior Max Tannenbaum is holding opposing hitters to a .192 average to go along with nine strikeouts in 8.0 innings.
STREAKING BEAVERS
Webber enters Saturday's doubleheader riding a five-game hitting streak, while juniors Eric Jaun and Connor Gill and sophomore Jake Oliger all have a hit in each of their last three contests.
PRODUCING AT THE PLATE
McHale, Webber, Oliger and Browne have combined to hit .606 (20-for-33) with three doubles, three homers, 13 walks and 15 runs batted in in Babson's wins over WPI, Curry and Johnson & Wales this week.

During its current 10-game home winning streak, Babson has outscored its opponents 86-34.
