Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

BROCKTON, Mass.—Sophomore Mark Webber (Norwell, Mass.) went 7-for-8  with six runs batted in and tied the program's single-season record with his sixth triple of the season as Babson College rolled to two lopsided victories in its New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) baseball doubleheader against Emerson College on Saturday afternoon at Campanelli Stadium. The Beavers won the opener, 13-1, and then blanked the Lions, 14-0, in game two.

Winners of five in a row and seven of its last eight games, Babson is now 21-12-1 overall and wraps up conference play at 10-7. The Green and White is seeded fourth in the upcoming NEWMAC Tournament and will host fifth-seeded Coast Guard on Thursday. Emerson took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first before the Green and White went ahead in the second inning used a two-run single by first-year Eric Jaun (Loveland, Ohio) in the third to make it 5-1. Leading 8-1 after eight, the Beavers tacked on five more runs, including Webber's three-run triple, in the ninth for the final margin.

First-year Daniel Cooney (Verona, N.J.) gave up one run on just four hits in a career-high 7.0 innings to move to 4-2 on the year for Babson.

The Beavers continued the onslaught in the nightcap as 13 players combined for 21 hits, including seven doubles, in the 14-0 win. Webber was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBI, first-year Connor Gill (Sterling, Mass.) went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and senior Joe Barry (Stoneham, Mass.) also had a pair of doubles and scored twice as part of his three-hit day. Sophomore David Lennon (Windermere, Fla.) also contributed three hits in the victory.

The Green and White pounded out 11 hits over the first three innings on its way to building a 7-0 lead. The Beavers tacked on two more runs in the fifth and then scored five times in the ninth, including a two-run double by junior Mark Poli (Medfield, Mass.) and an RBI double by sophomore Ryan Arena (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.).

Senior Nick Ahearn (Norfolk, Mass.) picked up the win to move to 2-2 on the year after striking out three and giving up just four hits over six shutout innings.
