Summer Washburn

Summer Washburn begins her fourth season as an assistant field hockey coach at Babson in 2021.

In her first two years with the program, the Beavers have gone unbeaten in NEWMAC regular season play and reached the conference tournament final twice, in addition to advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2019.

Washburn came to Babson following a successful three-year stint as an assistant field hockey and women's lacrosse coach at Trinity College. A 2015 graduate of Salisbury University, she was involved in all facets of both the field hockey and women’s lacrosse programs over the last three seasons with the Bantams. The Trinity field hockey squad followed up a 2016 NCAA Tournament appearance with a trip to the national quarterfinals last fall, while the women’s lacrosse team made three straight trips to the NCAA Tournament, which includes reaching the 2016 national championship game and the 2017 Final Four during her tenure.

A four-year standout for the field hockey team at Salisbury, Washburn finished with 23 goals and 30 assists for 76 points in 80 career starts. A three-time Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) all-league selection, she helped the program reach the NCAA Tournament in four straight years, and was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-America first-team after helping the Sea Gulls reach their second consecutive Final Four in 2014.

Additionally, Washburn also played two years of lacrosse at Salisbury and was a member of the program’s undefeated national championship team in 2013.
