The Beavers took a commanding 7-0 lead by the end of the first quarter. Laden, Austin, Ronney and Burtch all scored in the first six minutes to give the Beavers an early lead, and Wong and Bedard followed as the lead swelled to six goals less than 10 minutes into the contest. Gromko put in her first of the game in the final minute of the period for the hosts.

After the Cougars kept Babson off the scoreboard the first seven minutes of the second quarter. Wong and Burtch scored back-to-back goals in a 51-second span and Gromko tacked on a woman-up goal with four minutes remaining to give the Beavers a 10-0 margin at the half.
