Jenna Wong (Walpole, Mass.) scored a season-high seven goals and added an assist and sophomore
Courtney Laden (Wilmette, Ill.) chipped in with four goals and an assist as No. 18 Babson College breezed past Mount Holyoke College, 23-2, in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's lacrosse game Saturday afternoon at MacDowell Field.
With the victory, Babson won its second straight game and improved to 9-6 overall and 6-3 in the NEWMAC. Mount Holyoke had a two-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 7-7 overall and 2-7 in conference games.

Allie Collins (Sudbury, Mass.) joined Laden with three draw controls each, Burtch had a team-high two caused turnovers and Collins posted a team-high four ground balls. First-year
Francesca Tamburini (North Bend, Wash.) made a season-high seven saves in goal in the victory.
Sophomore Juliana Spaulding (Wakefield, Mass.) scored both goals for the Lyons and was assisted on both by senior Emi Bisson (Chester, Conn.), while Spaulding also grabbed a team-high four draw controls and caused two turnovers. Senior Langley Berat (New York, N.Y.) caused a pair of turnovers and scooped up two ground balls, and sophomore Valeria Bolonos (Newington, Conn.) made seven saves in goal in the setback.
The Beavers took control of the game early and scored all nine goals of the first quarter, including five by Wong. She started with a woman-down goal two minutes in, and after Bedard fired in her first of the day, Wong scored again for a three-goal lead before the game was five minutes old. Rooney, Kehoe and Laden tallied consecutive goals in a three-minute span to double the lead, and Wong scored three straight markers in a three-minute span to make it 9-0 after one quarter.
Spaulding put the Lyons on the scoreboard in the opening minute of the second quarter, but the Beavers scored the next six to secure a 15-1 lead at halftime. Caley started the rally with a woman-up goal and Laden followed with the next two. Wong struck for her fourth of the game a minute later, Rooney added her second, and Wong closed things out with her fifth of the game in the final minute of the half.
It was more of the same in the third quarter as the Beavers scored all four goals, one each by Sands, Bedard, Burtch and Collins. Rooney and Caley kept the train rolling to start the fourth quarter before Spaulding connected on her second of the game for the Lyons and first-year
Hailey Murray (Swarthmore, Pa.) and Laden round out the scoring for the Beavers.
Both teams wind up the regular season with NEWMAC games on Wednesday as Babson visits Wheaton for a 7 p.m. contest and Mount Holyoke returns home to host Emerson at 6 p.m.
GAME NOTES
• Babson has won 11 in a row and 19 of the last 20 games versus the Lyons and is 27-13 all-time against Mount Holyoke in a series that dates back to 1989.
• The 23 goals for the Beavers is a season high and the most in a game since a 25-1 blowout over Wellesley on April 23, 2025.
• The Beavers are 7-2 at MacDowell Field this season, outscoring the opponents 127-62.
