Women's Cross Country at the Keene State Invitational

WHAT TO KNOW
• The Babson women's cross country team will compete at the Keene State Invitational for just the fourth time since 2010 on Saturday morning.
• The Beavers are set to have 10 runners take part in the Open Race at 10:30 a.m. and four competitors in the Red Race on the 6K course at Keene State.
• Babson's appearances at the Keene State Invitational in 2010, 2019 and 2024 were all for 5K meets.
2024 KEENE STATE INVITATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
• Junior
Shriya Peddi placed 18th overall with a time of 18:46 on the 5K course to help Babson place seventh out of 23 schools at the Owl Athletic Complex on October 5, 2024.

Chloe Clifford '26 finished 46th with a then-career-best time of 19:37, junior
Sophia Draxler (19:43) and Ali Thomas '25 (19:45) placed 51st and 54th, respectively, and
Alexandra Kirkpatrick '26 crossed the finish line in a time of 20:17 to come in 72nd overall for the Beavers, who finished just 11 points behind sixth-place Mount Holyoke.
ABOUT THE BEAVERS
• Babson is coming off a second-place finish at the four-team Ellen O'Neil Invitational hosted by Smith back on September 19.
• Peddi (25:52.0), sophomore
Angelina Widmer (25:52.4) and Draxler (25:52.8) were separated by less than a second apart while finishing ninth, 10th and 11th respectively, while first-year
Sumaria Charron (25:58.2) and sophomore
Ali Meyers (25:59.0) gave the Beavers five of the top 13 finishers on the 6k course.

Tory Meran placed 21st overall with a time of 27:14.7 in her 6K debut, while junior
Taijah Harvey posted a time of 27:54.0 to finish in 25th position as the Green and White got its first look at the course that will host the NEWMAC Championships on October 31.
BEAVER BITES
• Widmer's time of 25:52.4 on the 6K course at Smith was a new personal best.
• Charron, Meran and fellow first-year
Mary Elizabeth Steinrotter (29:43) all made their 6K debut at the Ellen O'Neil Invitational on September 19.
• First-year Anastasia Marcich, who recorded Babson's top 2-mile time (12:28) at the season-opening Suffolk Classic did not compete at Smith.
ABOUT THE COMPETITION
• The Beavers will be joined by seven NEWMAC programs at the Keene State Invitational, which includes Wellesley and WPI, who are both currently ranked among the top 10 in the Northeast region.
• No. 2 Williams and No. 6 Tufts highlight four NESCAC program's set to compete at the Owl Athletic Complex.
