Emily Walsh (Flemington, N.J.) drove in first-year
Kay LaLiberty (Lowell, Mass.) with a bases loaded single in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift second-seeded Babson College to a 2-1 win over third-seeded Springfield College in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament action on Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Field.
With its fourth consecutive victory, Babson improves to 25-13 overall. Springfield, which defeated seventh-seeded Coast Guard earlier on Wednesday, slips to 30-12 on the year.

Moira O'Reilly (Columbus, Ohio) struck out nine and allowed just one run on four hits over 7.0 innings before handing the ball to classmate

Belle DiCampello (Pottstown, Pa.) added a stolen base and a run scored for the Beavers, who got hits from six different players.
Junior Carissa Pecchia (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored for the Pride. First-year LilyMcCauliffe (Greenwich, N.Y.) struck out five and gave up two runs, both unearned, over 9.1 innings to drop to 8-2 with the loss.
The Green and White went in front 1-0 in the bottom of the second as DiCampello reached on an error, stole second and raced home on Madia's RBI single to center. O'Reilly retired the first eight batters she faced and stranded a runner on third with a strikeout to end the fourth before Springfield pulled even on graduate student Callie Gendron's (Berlin, Conn.) two-out RBI single to right in the top of the sixth.
McCauliffe worked out of trouble after the first two Beavers reached thank to a walk and an error in the bottom of the eighth, while Whiteford used a strikeout and a ground ball right back at her to get out of the top of the ninth with the potential go-ahead run at third. Athena Hadjipanayis (Rye, N.Y.) reached on an infield single to load the bases.
Walsh fouled off a handful of pitches before lifting a single into center to bring home LaLiberty with the game-winning run.
Babson will face top-seeded MIT in winner's bracket game at 4 p.m. on Thursday in Cambridge, while Springfield meets fourth-seeded WPI in an elimination game at 12 p.m.
GAME NOTES
• The Beavers are 34-42 all-time against Springfield and owns a 14-10 mark in the postseason, which includes 10 victories in the last 13 conference tournament meetings between the teams.

Sophia Pak (New Rochelle, N.Y.) extended their hitting streaks to 13 and 12 games, respectively.
• Babson is now 8-7 this season in one-run games.
