BABSON PARK, Mass.— Graduate student
Lily Ives (Chappaqua, N.Y.) and senior
Nicole Darveau (Sudbury, Mass.) tallied six points apiece and 12 different players scored at least one goal as No. 21 Babson College sailed to a 22-2 victory over Salve Regina University in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon at MacDowell Field.
With its ninth straight victory, Babson improves to 10-1 overall and 6-0 in conference play, while Salve Regina, in its first season in the NEWMAC, slips to 7-4 overall and 1-3 in conference games.
Ives finished with five goals and an assist, Darveau had three goals and three assists, and junior
Amelia Novitch (Dover, Mass.) contributed a goal and four assists in the win. Senior
Genevieve Bushey (Lakeville, Conn.) scored three times, junior
Clare Connolly (Hanover, Mass.) was good for two goals, an assists and 13 draw controls, and juniors
Kathryn Blake (Medfield, Mass.) and
Jessica Evans (Southbury, Conn.) chipped in with a goal and an assist each for the Green and White. First-year goalie
Morgan McGahan (Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J.) made four second half saves in the victory.
Juniors Kayli Garcia (Southington, Conn.) and Stella McCormack (East Hampton, N.Y.) scored once each for the Seahawks. Junior goalie Grace Haesche (Warwick, N.Y.) made three saves in the first 12 minutes before suffering an injury, and first-year midfielder Alix Madden (Plymouth, Mass.) took over in goal and made six saves in a strong reserve performance between the pipes.
Babson wasted little time in taking control, scoring five times in the first five minutes of the game with goals by Novitch, Connolly, Ives Darveau and Bushey. Blake made it 6-0, and Connolly scored a woman-up goal 19 second later before Ives went back-to-back with goals to make it 9-0. Evans, Darveau, and Ives all scored again as the lead ballooned to 12-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Junior
Michaela Downer (North Andover, Mass.) got into the act to open the second frame, Bushey notched her second of the game, and Ives and Darveau tacked on goals to give the hosts a 16-0 margin at the intermission.
The Seahawks got on the board with the first goal of the third quarter, scored by Garcia. First-year
Taryn Kucharski (Solon, Ohio) scored twice and Bushey added one as Babson held a 19-1 lead after three, and seniors
Kayleigh Hacker (Natick, Mass.),
Abbie Downer (North Andover, Mass.) and
Zoë Michaud (Bedford, N.H.) rounded out the scoring in the fourth quarter for the Beavers. McCormack finished things off with the final goal for the Seahawks.
Babson faces ranked opponents in its next two games, beginning Wednesday at No. 16 MIT at 6 p.m. in Cambridge. Salve Regina returns home to host Wheaton on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Gaudet Field.

• The Beavers are 46-4 in regular season games against NEWMAC opponents since the start of 2016.
• The nine-game winning streak for the Green and White is the fifth-longest in program history and the longest since the Beavers won nine in a row in 2016.
