BABSON PARK, Mass.— Graduate student
Lily Ives (Chappaqua, N.Y.) produced three goals and four assists, and seven players scored multiple goals as No. 17 Babson College rolled past crosstown rival Wellesley College, 25-1, in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's lacrosse regular season finale on Wednesday afternoon at MacDowell Field.
With the victory, Babson improved to 14-2 overall and finished unbeaten in NEWMAC play for the first time since 2019 with a 9-0 conference mark. Wellesley winds up its season at 3-13 overall and 1-9 in NEWMAC games.

Kathryn Blake (Medfield, Mass.) and
Michaela Downer (North Andover, Mass.) tallied three goals and an assist each for the Beavers, and classmate
Clare Connolly (Hanover, Mass.), senior
Nicole Darveau (Sudbury, Mass.) and first-year
Mia Fierro (Oswego, N.Y.) all scored three time each. Junior
Amelia Novitch (Dover, Mass.) contributed a goal and an assist, Connolly collected a game-high 11 draw controls, and senior
Kayleigh Hacker (Natick, Mass.) scooped up a team-high five ground balls.
Sophomore Finley Tipton (Coppell, Texas) scored her team leading 51st goal of the season for the Blue in the second half, finishing the regular season as Wellesley's leader in both goals (51) and points (59). Tipton also grabbed three draw controls, junior Ryan Boone (Scotch Plains, N.J.) caused a pair of turnovers, and goalies Anna Blake Patrick (Portland, Ore.) and Cianna Salvatora (Pittsburgh, Pa.) combined for nine saves in the setback.
Downer scored twice and Novitch once in the first two minutes of the game as Babson took control early on. Ives got her first of the day, Blake added a player-up goal and Darveau found the back of the net from Downer as Babson went out in front 6-0 before the game was five minutes old. Genevieve Bushey (Lakeville, Conn.) extended the lead to 10 goals with seven minutes left in the opening frame.
Darveau, Connolly and Novitch continued the scoring parade as the Green and White finished the quarter with a 13-0 lead. The Beavers pushed it to 17-0 by halftime as Connolly, Blake, Downer and junior
Jessica Evans (Southbury, Conn.) ripped off goals to put the game out of reach.
First-year
Claire Jones (Sudbury, Mass.) scored her first career goal to open the third frame and junior
Solana Fahey (North Andover, Mass.) tallied her seventh of the season before Tipton finally put the Blue on the board with four minutes to go in the third quarter. Junior
Cameron Rabenold (Cincinnati, Ohio) added her third of the season to end the third quarter and Darveau opened the fourth quarter with a goal before Fierro put in three in a row to seal the win.
The Beavers had a 35-5 shot advantage and forced 26 Blue turnovers while making just 16 of their own. Babson was good on all 15 clear attempts while holding Wellesley to 10-of-21.
The top seed in the upcoming NEWMAC Tournament, Babson receives a first-round bye and will host a semifinal contest next Wednesday at 6 p.m. at MacDowell Field.

• Babson has won eight in a row and 19 of the last 21 games versus the Blue and is now 25-21 all-time against Wellesley in a series that dates back to 1987
• The Beavers have won 19 of the last 24 victories against conference schools by at least 10 goals going back to 2022.
