LeBeau (6) and Chamberlin (4) combined for 10 draw controls, sophomore Kayleigh York (Scarborough, Maine) caused two turnovers and grabbed two ground balls, and three Wheaton goalies combined to make seven saves in the loss.

Babson needed just 48 seconds to get on the scoreboard as Blake tallied her first of the game in the opening minute. Novitch scored the next three goals for the Beavers to make it 4-0 midway through the opening stanza, and Ives and Blake fired in goals just 35 seconds apart as the lead swelled to 6-0. Novitch and Bushey tacked on a pair of goals in the final two minutes of the frame, with each assisting on the other's goal, as the Green and White led 8-0 after one.

Ives and Darveau opened the second-quarter scoring to begin the running time on the clock with 11:19 to go in the second quarter. Blake set up Downer for her first of the evening and then scored another one of her own, assisted by Bushey, with 4:42 to play, before Ives rounded out the first half scoring with 1:27 on the clock as the Beavers went into the break with a 13-0 advantage.

Evans and Darveau notched goals for the Green and White to open the third quarter before the Lyons broke through with a pair of goals by Chamberlin and LeBeau late in the frame.
