SERIES HISTORY
• Babson is 19-0 all-time against Emerson in a series that dates back to 2011.
• The Beavers have allowed just 14 runs over their last nine games against the Lions going back to 2017.
LAST MEETING
• Jake Oliger '20 hit a three-run homer and finished with five RBI, while Connor Gill '19 added three hits and scored three times as the Beavers wrapped up a three-game sweep with a 9-2 win over Emerson on April 27, 2019, in Babson Park.
• Eric Jaun '19 went 3-for-5 with an RBI in support of senior Ben Aleixo, who allowed just one earned run over six innings for the Beavers.
• Josh Cohen singled and scored for the Lions, who were limited to just two hits.
SCOUTING THE LIONS
• Emerson (1-5, 1-5 NEWMAC) suffered a pair of one-run losses, including a 4-3 setback in game two, to WPI last Saturday.
• Junior Joe Colucci doubled twice and classmate Louis Davolio went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Lions, who recorded 11 hits and left 11 runners on base.
• Colucci is batting .571 (8-for-14) with three doubles, a home run and three RBI, Cohen is 7-for-15 at the plate with a .652 on-base percentage and seven runs scored, and sophomore Thai Morgan is hitting .333 with two homers and a team-high seven runs batted in.
• Sophomore AJ Ortega (0-0) has recorded 10 strikeouts in 12.2 innings for an Emerson staff that has allowed 66 earned runs 52 innings pitched this spring.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
• No. 10 Babson (6-2, 5-1 NEWMAC) is coming off a 5-3 win in the finale of a four-game series with then-19th-ranked Wheaton on Sunday afternoon.
• Graduate student Matthew Valente came through with a two-run single in the fourth and sophomore Michael Cook hit a go-ahead home run in the bottom of the sixth for the Beavers.
• Graduate student AJ DiFillipo is batting .344 with three doubles and nine runs batted in, Valente is hitting .323 with three doubles, five RBI and five runs scored, and first-year Francis Kiely enters the weekend with a .238 average to go along with two homers and seven RBI.
• Senior Jordy Allard (3-0) boasts a 0.39 earned run average and 27 strikeouts over 23 innings, while junior Riley Teevens has made three starts going 2-1 with a 3.46 ERA over 13 innings. Senior Henry Leake has three saves in four appearances out of the bullpen.

• After tossing eight shutout innings in last Saturday's 3-0 game one win over Wheaton, Allard was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week on Tuesday.
• Allard ranks second in Division III in WHIP (0.39) and is eighth nationally among pitchers with at least 12 innings pitched in ERA. He also leads the NEWMAC in strikeouts and has thrown 19 consecutive scoreless innings going back to March 27.
PITCHING PROWESS
• The Babson relief corps allowed just three earned runs and finished the weekend with a 1.69 ERA and 12 strikeouts over 16 innings of work in last weekend's four-game series against Wheaton.
• Graduate student Jack Theriault gave up just one hit while tossing four shutout innings on Saturday, while first-year Tristan Spalter fanned four and scattered four hits in 5.1 scoreless frames in his collegiate debut out of the bullpen on Sunday.
• Graduate student William Gallagher earned his first win after working out of a bases loaded jam in the top of the sixth inning in Sunday's 5-3 game two victory, and Leake recorded a pair of saves against the Lyons.
BEAVER BITES
• Senior Alex Luka made his first start in nearly three years to open Sunday's doubleheader against Wheaton. Luka, who missed all of the 2019 and 2020 campaigns, started the NCAA Tournament York (Pa.) Regional final for the Beavers as a first-year in 2018.
• Graduate student Ben Gottesman, who helped UMass Boston reach the College World Series in 2019, made his first start for Babson in game two of Sunday's twin bill versus Wheaton allowing two earned runs over 5.1 innings.
• Junior Andrew Dembowski made his first career start in centerfield for the Green and White in Sunday's nightcap and went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in the 5-3 victory.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
• The Beavers rank first in Division III in strikeout-to-walk ratio (8.50) and WHIP (0.84), are seventh in hits allowed per nine innings (6.56) and rank ninth in team ERA (2.31).
