Accomplishments: A 1998 graduate of Babson and native of Sodus, New York, Michele Steinrotter is the most decorated skier in Babson College history. A four-time team MVP, Steinrotter helped the Beavers qualify for the regional championships in 1995 and the national championships in both 1996 and 1997. In the team's first appearance in the nationals, she earned All-American Second Team honors in both the slalom and giant slalom (GS) by placing sixth in both races, helping Babson finish 10th in the country as a team. The following year, she led the Beavers back to the national championships, where they finished 13th overall. She once again received All-America Second Team status at that event, taking 10th place in the GS. Despite her remarkable success in her first three seasons, Steinrotter would enjoy the finest year of her career as a senior in 1998, when as team captain she qualified for the regional championships as an individual. At the USCSA regional competition she placed fourth overall and first among individual qualifiers, earning her the league's only non-team selection to the national championships. At nationals, she capped off her amazing career by finishing fourth in both the slalom and GS, earning All-America First Team honors in both events. The 1998 Senior Female Athlete of the Year and owner of 10 career race victories, Steinrotter remains the only five-time All-American in Babson women's skiing history.
