Armed with a talented and battle-tested roster, the Babson College women's volleyball team will seek to continue its ascention up the ranks of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) this fall. With alumna and head coach Tonya Strange at the helm, the Beavers will look to improve upon last year's 13-win campaign that saw the team place fifth in the league standings - its second straight top-five finish. For the first time in the 35-year history of the program, the volleyball team will feature two returning All-Conference honorees on its roster in 2010. Juniors Meg Flaherty (Hollis, N.H.) and Nina Milovanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) are both back after magnificent seasons a year ago. Flaherty earned All-NEWMAC Second Team status for the first time after leading Babson with 314 kills (3.05 k/g) and 287 digs (2.79 d/g). She also chiped in with 30 service aces and 23 total blocks while hitting .221 for the year. She was joined on the All-Conference Second Team by Milovanovic, who in her first season as a Beaver contributed 278 kills (3.02 k/g), 248 digs (2.70 d/g), 33 aces, and 25 total blocks. [+]

This fall the Babson athletic teams not only performed on the field and in the classroom, but they also gave back to the community in many different ways. Several teams participated in community service events that benefited many organizations including the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, the Make-a-Wish Foundation, and the Jimmy Fund. Im extremely proud of everything our athletes have done and continue to do within the community, said Director of Athletics Josh MacArthur. These young men and women have tremendous demands on their time and energy, and yet they still make the effort to give back in whatever way they can. They genuinely thrive on touching the lives of others, and in doing so they serve as wonderful ambassadors for Babson College and our athletics program. [+]
