Women's Volleyball Announces 2017 Schedule

BABSON PARK, Mass.—Coming off a fourth straight top three finish in the ultra-competitive New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC), Babson College women's volleyball coach Eric Neely announced the program's 2017 schedule on Wednesday.

The Beavers, who went 18-13 in 2016, will face nine of last year's NCAA Tournament participants this fall. The Green and White opens the season with three matches at the Brandeis Invitational on September 1-2, and will take on Emmanuel in its home opener on September 6. Babson travels to the MIT Invitational for three matches on September 8-9 before opening conference play at home with contests against WPI on September 12 and Clark on September 16.

Following trips to Emerson (September 19) and Smith (September 23) as part of a four-match road trip, the Beavers return home for five straight contests. The Green and White hosts Coast Guard and UMass Boston as part of a tri-match on September 30, will face MIT on October 3, and then welcomes Endicott and Plymouth State to Staake Gymnasium for another tri-match on October 7.

Babson will hit the road for seven of its final eight matches of the regular season, beginning with trips to Wheaton (October 10) and Springfield (October 17). The Green and White will take on Middlebury, Tufts and the host Ephs in the New England Challenge at Williams on October 20-21, before facing Wellesley in its home finale on October 24. The Beavers wrap up the regular season at Mount Holyoke on October 28.

The NEWMAC's top seven teams qualify for the league tournament, which begins with the quarterfinals on October 31 and will be followed by the semifinals and championship match at the regular season champion on November 4-5.
