Babson Volleyball Blanks Framingham State For Best Start Since 1992
BABSON PARK, Mass. - The Babson College women's volleyball team improved to 4-0 for the first time in 16 years by claiming a 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-10) victory over visiting Framingham State College in a non-conference match at Staake Gymnasium on Wednesday night. With the win, the Beavers are off to their best start since 1992 when the team won its first 11 contests.
First-year Meg Flaherty (Hollis, N.H.) continued her impressive start with another stellar match, as she finished with 11 kills, four service aces, and nine digs. Senior tri-captain Amanda Medin (Baltimore, Md.) hit .438 in the win with eight kills in two sets, and junior Caitlin O'Neill (Lynnfield, Mass.) notched eight kills and two blocks. Senior tri-captain Becca Rydzik (Beacon Falls, Conn.) chipped in with seven kills and five digs, junior Shanna Glassner (Orland Park, Ill.) posted seven digs and three aces, and first-year Anna Belz (Bayport, N.Y.) amassed 29 assists.
The loss dropped Framingham State's record to 1-3 on the year.
