SPRINGFIELD, Mass.—The Babson College women's track & field team set a pair of school records and junior Angelina Raffone (Westbrook, Conn.) won the 100-meter dash to help the Beavers finish eighth at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships at Springfield College on Saturday afternoon.

The Green and White finished with 21 points overall, while MIT captured its 10th consecutive title. WPI and Wheaton College came in second and third, respectively, Coast Guard was fourth and the host Pride rounded out the top five.

She broke her school record with a time of 12.28 in the prelims and then bettered it by eight one-hundredth of a second to win by 0.09 seconds.

Sophomore Camille Lewis (Cheshire, Conn.), who became the first female to compete in the 3000-meter steeplechase just two weeks ago, shattered her previous school record by nearly 18 seconds to finish 11th overall with a time of 12:27.93. Junior Chaela Hood (Plymouth, Mass.) also put together a great performance in the 10,000-meter run by coming in fifth with a time of 40:31.11.

Sophomore Stephanie Rodriguez (Guatemala City, Guatemala) came in seventh with a personal-best time of 4:50.55 in the 1500-meter run, while first-year Emma Cavanugh (Southbury, Conn.) placed seventh by crossing the finish line in a time of 19:38.26 in the 5000 meters. Senior Melanie Plattner (Fort Lee, N.J.) clocked in at 2:23.43 to finish 12th in the 800 meters and first-year Ana Lamoso (San Juan, Puerto Rico) was 12th with a time of 1:19.38 in the 400-meter hurdles.

In addition to her record-setting performance in the 100 meters, Raffone came in 12th with a time of 26.81 in the 200 meters. First-year Tianna Houston (Cranston, R.I.) placed 15th with a time of 17.20 in the 100-meter hurdles, and first-year Eve Rice (Marblehead, Mass.), Lamoso and sophomore Taline Karozichian (Pleasantville, N.Y.) were separated by less than a second in the 400 meters.

The Beavers also posted season-best times in both the 4x100-meter relay (54.02) and the 4x400-meter relay (4:18.27).

Babson returns to action next Thursday when the NCAA New England Championships get underway at MIT.
