WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.—The Babson College men's and women's track & field teams competed in three events at the NEICAAA Championships at Williams College, highlighted by a record-setting performance in the men's 4x400-meter relay. The Green and White was taking part in the Open New England Championships for the first time in program history.

The Beavers' team of senior JD Greenfield (Reading, Mass.), junior John Decker (Parkland, Fla.) and sophomores Matthew Dynan (Reading, Mass.) and Gabe Ficht (Newburyport, Mass.) came in seventh to earn All-New England honors while shattering the school record by 2.42 seconds with a time of 3:16.70. The Green and White, which ranked 72nd in Division III entering the weekend, now owns the 27th best time in the country.

The Babson women got the meet started with a pair of solid performances on Friday night. Sophomore Chaela Hood (Plymouth, Mass.) placed 17th with a time of 40:53.26 in the 10,000-meter run, while classmate Angelina Raffone (Westbrook, Conn.) placed 20th in the prelims of the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.54. Raffone's time was just 0.16 seconds off her school record set back on April 29 at the conference meet.

The Beavers return to action on Thursday when Decker and the 4x400-meter relay team compete at MIT.
